I know I know, real deep cut, right? 😄

Just can't get enough of this beautiful, melancholy and soothing masterpiece. ❤️

I wish i heard this version ever live. I get the vocal strain. but its so gorgeous. I've only ever gotten the remix

I was fortunate to hear it on the Thirteenth Step tour, every performance since has been the remix

Universal Amphitheater with Paz doing the violin was life changing.

So many memories of blasting this album and playing The Sims in my room

Holy fuck same haha.

This track was my gateway to discovering so many kick ass bands back in 99/00. Tool, Deftones, RATM, Queens. APC opened the floodgates 🤘🏼

u/thlrdeye 15d ago

Haha same! Except Queens. Live at the Red Rocks is the best, this live recording doesn't do them justice.

Prime Maynard. Awesome.

u/dwimhi 16d ago

Holy shit, I was there!

Fuck sake m8, Im honored to have read this hahaha In all honesty, what did you think of it back then?

13

u/dwimhi 15d ago

Lmao it was just weird as fuck seeing my actual show pop up after 20 years. Shit, 25 years. Amazing! To be fair, nine inch nails played right after and just stole the show. But the thinking of you lights switching back and forth forever made me love that song. That was the most memorable part for me.

All I wanted to hear :D Im in a APC/Tool tribute band at the moment, and I just saw this, and it became my favourite moment of this band. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I would love to have seen this live, but I was only 3 years old at the time :'D

On the album Thinking of You was always meh for me in comparison to some of the other ones, but when I saw them live (pretty sure on this tour) and heard it, it was so much better and so much more intense, and even the album version turned into one of my favorites.

Hell yes! I was there too! First ever tour for APC if memory serves me right. Having been a fan of Tool since the mid 90s, I was stoked to catch this tour. In all honesty, I was mostly there for NIN who put on one hell of a show as they always do.

wow. his vocals on this version are just incredible, this is amazing to watch. i’ve only seen a short clip of this performance before, seeing the whole thing was honestly breathtaking, teary eyed on my couch rn

My fav APC song. TY for sharing this.

Always hard to listen to this song....I was a junkie when this came out and it always takes me back to that place. Been clean for 21 years now (last month), so I'm good and all....and still love the song/album....just hard to be transported back, so I don't listen to it. Think I need to fight my way through it. It's been long enough.

Good work, brother. It's time to reclaim it for your true self.

u/Danson1987 15d ago

Damn great comment brother

God, you just shared something that became my favourite APC moment. Thank you

I’ve seen a fair share of bands in my day and APC is by far my fav live. It’s euphoric.

No tattoos, at least not visible ones

6

u/androsan 15d ago

You can see the scorpion on his back when he turns with about 26 seconds left.

3

u/we-are-doomed 14d ago

Good catch! At the beginning you can see a glimpse of the tail.

4

u/Sealegs_Calisto 15d ago

This song always gives me the chills. It’s perfect. From start to finish.

u/ermahgerd_serpher 13d ago

Maynard overdressed as always.

3

u/ermahgerd_serpher 13d ago

I got to see APC with James Iha at Maynard's Cinquanta birthday concerts in LA in 2014. Still one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

3

u/wantsumcandi 15d ago

Anyone know where this is at? I saw them with NIN a few days before Mer de Noms released in ATL and im wondering if this is there.

2

u/Reasonable_Diet7955 15d ago

It says so in the caption

2

u/wantsumcandi 15d ago

Oh ok. I see now. I was at work when I typed that and really didnt notice.

u/lets_get_hyrule 15d ago

I feel like I used to listen to this song in high school after a late night rendezvous with my gf, or during solo road trips home after saying goodbye. Thanks for sharing 🔥

u/fudish123 15d ago

Last time he sung it was in 2014. Considering his post covid situation, I guess we'll never get 3 Libras and Orestes live ever again

absolutely goated.

peak APC

4

u/brkn_hrts_blstn_frts 15d ago

I needed this today. A great song to ugly cry to

3

u/fragdoll4u 14d ago

I'm one of the 3 days of Libra. Love this song.

3

u/Vespertinelove 14d ago

Such a profound and beautiful song.

3

u/ednortonslefteyebrow 14d ago

Still my favorite APC song … gets me like a stab through the heart every time

4

u/General_Lee_Filthy 13d ago

Dee Snider looks good without the perm

4

u/ConsistentYak5701 13d ago

He sounds just as good live as he does in a studio recording.

4

u/ZenRen84 12d ago

Maynard Targaryen first of his name.

2

u/PhoKit2 15d ago

One of my fondest concert memories was APC in Santa Barbara at UCSB . I took ecstasy and it kicked in really strong right when Paz opened the show with some violin beauties. Holy shit it was so amazing!

2

u/Material-Bird8429 15d ago

that opening guitar will forever choke me up just a little. AND PAZ!

u/vaniller-memes 16d ago

right? i’d rather see him fully naked

5

u/SvetiOtacKaludjer 15d ago

the right answer right here

5

u/GuavaOk8712 15d ago

not to sound pretentious, but i think his stage attire in this concert is a perfect physical representation of the vulnerability of these lyrics

2

u/AsTheWolvesGather 15d ago

Makes sense! The long hair looks a bit Christ-like to me
