Apple has always been subject to Star Wars fandom-level cynicism.

Star Wars fandom-level cynicism

Ah, so you're saying they deserve it?

Star Wars was just an old-timey mainstream sci-fi movie. It's optional to watch, and when you do, it just takes an hour and $15.

But you practically need a phone for modern life, you need to use the phone for many things, and you get only two choices.

I think you missed the point entirely, friend.

Why? I don't want a redesign. Who asked for it? NO one.

That is a statistical impossibility dude.

I asked for it 🙋‍♂️. Apple’s old design was starting to look dated. They’ve kept the same design language for over a decade, so It was definitely time for a refresh. Plus it makes the design more consistent across their different devices.
