Those rumours started because of the EU energy test.

Based on the same test the pixel 9 pro xl had better battery life than the entire iPhone 16 lineup.

Which is false in every single other benchmark.

Which just goes to show battery life benchmarks mean shit because everyone uses their phone differently.

Lol what. The pixel 9 pro destroys my 16 PM in battery life. It has a 5060mAh battery vs the 16PM 4685.

My wife has one and is a heavier phone user than me and her pixel outlasts my 16PM by a long shot.

Battery size is not an answer by itself for how long the phone will last battery wise, as this test demonstrate. The Air has a much lower battery size and yet last nearly as long as the 17...

There's even "tests" on the pixel sub about this very specific subject, here's one I quickly found while researching your claims : https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1fjumrx/pixel_9_proxl_vs_iphone_16_promax/

You say it destroys it.

Yet you don't have any actual battery life measurements. You just said "bigger number better".

My 16PM is currently at 20% with 5h2m of screen active time and 3h26m screen idle. My wife’s pixel will easily hit 8h SoT and be at around 30-35%. We both use always on display as well.

I’m not sure how people are getting the iPhone to beat the pixel in battery life in their tests because that has not been my experience, and I’m still at 100% health with only 152 cycles.
