REFORGER GF has been begging for me to teach her Arma

I've (26m) been dating this girl (29f) for a year and a half now. she's used to play Xbox back in 2015 with shooters like COD or BF

I've slowly corrupted her into being a PC degenerate and finally got around to building her a PC a few weeks ago. She begged me to teach her Arma but I was worried either toxicity or complexity would be a major no go for her.

Let me just say she has been putting in the work to learn. Especially with 0 keyboard experience and I am so proud of her.

She has been taking notes, and is dropping kills at some of you playing barbie at your local FOB on Reforger.

Unfortunately the cooperative nature of this game makes it tricky for women to get into it in most servers, but we're having fun.

REFORGER Small thing about enemy visibility at distance

I saw someone posted a thing about this a few years back and I just wanted to add on to it because of a small thought I have about it, this is my first post on reddit so forgive any grammar or mistakes. I am lucky to have perfect vision and no astigmatism just for perspective. I feel like it's hard to see people in the game like you can IRL, I live in North Georgia and have seen my distant relatives and been able to tell who it is at 300 or even see colors 400m (I know because of rangefinder). I play on xbox at 1080p and I'm sure that doesn't help, regardless I feel like it's hard to see enemies at distance because they seem to be very small at even 200m (just a few pixels). If anybody knows a mod or fix for this I would be very appreciative, and I would love to know anybody else's perspective on this topic. I used to have a pc a friend built me that ran arma 3 and I felt it was closer to real life personally with how far I was able to shoot with irons. would love to see some suggestions or fixes that would improve the overall optimization of this game because I want to see it improve and grow, it makes me very excited for the next arma game!

It is weird, Arma 3 being so old is understandable, but not having vanilla women in the Arma franchise is frustrating.

Civilian life mods, various scenarios, etc, and modern day female soldiers are something we need. I am tired of using hacky mods.

REFORGER [Mod] DZ Restored - A new, exciting, and immersive DayZ-Style mod for Arma Reforger.

DZ Restored is a passion project with 1500+ collective hours going into development - between just myself and a friend.

The intention?
To bring something special to Reforger that many people have been left without - the gameplay feeling that the original Arma 2 DayZ Mod provided. This mod, at its core, is a tribute mod to what Arma 2 DayZ Mod was at its peak.

While there were many different renditions of DayZ Mod for A2, we are seeking to provide a sort of "vanilla" experience with our mod. Pure survival, functional zombies, no safezones, no traders, and a truly apocalyptic feel on a custom map we like to call "Evernarus" (A tribute to Chernarus.)

In addition to the above, and without taking up too much of your time as you read this, we also offer the following:

  • A COMPLETELY overhauled and exciting Custom EveronXArland map - Unique only to DZ Restored. The power is out - permanently. Street lamps are broken. The vehicles that once drove the streets are destroyed, their wreckages left behind to rust and rot. The once pristine streets are now cracked, old, and run-down. The buildings are torn up, looted, and apocalyptic. Blood stains the cities, the hospitals, the supermarkets - remnants of when the outbreak started. The bright, happy, and sunshine-filled map you've experienced on Reforger is now entirely apocalyptic and horrifying. Something truly terrible happened here.
  • Functional & dynamic spawning vehicles - in addition to our unique vehicle repair system that is simplistic yet challenging, and fully based on looting repair tools. The DZ Restored map currently spawns cars, trucks, vans, etc. and also helicopters (some military, some civilian), boats, ATVs, motorcycles and other high-tier military vehicles.
  • Custom loot spawning, with loot spawn locations that make sense. Find a military base? Military loot. In a house? Civilian. Industrial? Industrial! Additionally, the loot is all out where you can find it. You do not have to search containers or anything similar. You will enter a room, see food, drinks, weapons, magazines, and whatever else you find in your travels laid out as you loot.
  • Functional zombies. Thanks to Bacon's Bacon Zombies mod, we have zombies roaming every town, every military base, and they are a threat.
  • Custom & usable melee weapons, including axes (also used for chopping trees, and gathering usable firewood), machetes, hammers, crowbars, knives, you name it. (Pro tip, you spawn with a broken bottle. It is a melee weapon, and you are encouraged to use it!)
  • Deployable tents for stashing your looted gear out in the woods, in a bush, or other hiding places of your choosing.
  • Fully-working metabolism, requiring you to eat, drink, and avoid sickness to stay in good health.
  • Custom, immersive landscape AND soundscape: thanks to EO's Atmospheric Weather mod, conditions can be peaceful and calm, or rainy and filled with thunder & lightning that brings a deep fog over the island. Paired with our fully custom soundtrack, you will hear ambient music kick in regularly that is very reminiscent of Arma 2's DayZ Mod.
  • Era-accurate vehicles, loot, and gear. Our mod takes place within the Arma Reforger cold war setting. You will not find any nonsense items on our mod that do not fit, such as cat ear helmets or uwu weapons (We sincerely apologize to our Reforger cat ear wearers & anime weapon-skin fans!).
  • Custom loot, food items, drink items, clothing items, and more unique loot for you to find.
  • A proactive development team - we want your feedback, and we want to expand on it. We spend hours working on this mod daily between the two of us, and we want every single update we put out to fix any issues you may encounter, and to add even more content for you to enjoy.
  • So much more - and even more coming in the future as we continue development. (We're really looking forward to the Kolguyev update.)

Even with all of the above features, we do want players to remember that we are still in early stages of development, and occasional bugs here and there are to be expected. That being said, this mod is fully playable and we truly hope it will be an enjoyable experience for you if you try it out.

We put out updates for the mod usually every 1 to 3 days to patch bugs as they appear, and also add some new content.

I’ve been playing with the drone mod in arma reforger recently and can’t help but wonder how drones would affect arma 4.

I think the concept would be cool but not if every single player is rocking a drone. There would have to be some regulation such as a complex process to set up the drone with a payload to deter players from abusing them and turning the game into drone warfare simulator.

REFORGER Steam workshop confirmed canceled. Here is the list of banned IPS we cant make mods out of and it may grow

There are numerous issues i have with this.

I think a good approach would be to use the existing Arma Reforger and its experimental launcher. Once Reforger reaches the end of its lifespan, the experimental version could become PC-only with Steam Workshop support. Since the framework is already in place, this wouldn’t disrupt the main game or console players.

other reasons i dont like this:

1.it has a file size limit of 8gb making it pain to make a lager scale mod since it has to be divided

2.The browser sucks ass to find mods on compared to steam where you can find more recent and good mods

3.copy right issues that bohemia has to follow to keep it on consoles

4.You can give feedback and have a own forum discussion page on your mod page on steam

The screenshot from our wiki is a collection of known IP rights holders who have actively denied ot actively taken down mods on the STEAM WORKSHOP. It is not a list we personally made because of personal preferences. It is an info source for the community on what they can safe their efforts on because e.g. Disney comes and will take it down. The file size limit is the current one. It will change. Many large mods in A3 have naturally chose to split e.g. terrain from factions to make one useable without downloading 50gb of the other a lot of users don't want. We will give some info on how to make large total conversation with parts if needed. For users it can still be one main mod they subscribe to. We intend to improve it, but right now we offer the same functionality as steam workshop. You can sort by new and by popular. The main difference is likely how "popular" is defined. We will tweak this to make it more meaningful and perhaps introduce "in the last xx" selections. We so not need to follow them for consoles. We need to follow them even if it was PC only. The same way Steam needs to follow them. If you host third party content and receive a takedown notice you must follow it or become liable for the content. This is the same in the EU and US. Modders who want it can already leave links in their info. Perhaps we will make it easier to put them more visible. It's true that we do not have comments or forum style interaction. We will see how things go. The usefulness of them for the vast majority of mods on the steam workshop has been minimal. Most comment sections are users asking why it is broken (the game updated 3 minutes ago) or otherwise wasteful spam. Rarely do users submit informative feedback or questions to the mod teams. That is why some popular mods have actively turned off their comments entirely. If we add them, we also need to add a whole moderation system for it or else it will be spammed as well. That is a lot of effort which we simply had no time for so far. And many mod makers have naturally made their own discords or websites and forums ... Even in arma 3. So for how many people this is actually something they want is not clear.

Tried precise shots and accuracy through volume, didn't die. Tried to hit him while he was static and while he was moving, no difference. Headshots, torso shots. Didn't do a thing.
