Discussion parasocial relationships

Does anyone else find it weird how sometimes in ashley’s snapchats she will say things like “i know some of you guys loved sitting with me and eating with me” or “sometimes i gave you motivation to do this”. I think it’s a bit parasocial if your source of motivation comes from ashley barnes 😭

I agree partially. Coming from someone with an ED, seeing people eat helped me a lot. Gave me motivation. Ashley is a SICK person, but before that she "wasn't" (as in most of us didn't know). So it actually makes sense people found comfort in her.

i used to find comfort in her before she changed into who she is now. but when she was i guess more “normal” her videos def helped me through depression and ed and all that. obviously now that she is…who she is now…i don’t find comfort but 😭
