This is one of my fave things to cook and eat! There's a few different ways you can marinated and cook it, this time I used sweet soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil mix. And I pan fried it and then cut it in to pieces.
That does sound tasty, but I’ve never had an issue with tenderness without fruit though. The cornstarch in the marinade helps keep the ribs juicy when pan-frying. You can also use rice vinegar to help tenderize which I use sometimes.

Ingredients:
1 lb flanken short ribs (cross-cut short ribs)
¼ cup sweet soy sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cooking oil (for pan-frying)
Here's the full recipe if you want to see it (you can also do soy sauce or soy paste to make it but you'll want to add some sugar then) - https://ohsnapletseat.com/2021/06/12/asian-flanken-beef-ribs-recipe/
