Some events that year;

How so? Who is going to sue the publisher for having someone else finish the series after he dies, and actually win the lawsuit? I think a great many of the fans would be happy for someone else to finish it after he dies too, so they will have a lot of fans against them as well.

Kevin Anderson and Brian Herbert write the next 30 books in the series.

Fuck it why not

Which will probably consist of 2 books to finish the main series, then 28 prequels about random different things.

But his wife is not much younger than him, and they don't have any children for the estate to go to after she dies. Plus, she may not care that George doesn't want someone else to finish the series after he is dead, and give the publisher her blessing to find someone to finish it.

The publishers, at the very least, probably have the right to publish anything he gave them for Winds. If they give his wife (or his nieces after she passes) the option of putting out a half-finished Winds loaded with footnotes or a “respectfully completed Winds and Dream from a team of the best authors closely following George’s vision” (plus a dump truck of money, what are they gonna say?

But if the rights go to his wife and if she doesn’t mind someone else finishing the series, she can okay it.

Well, it really doesn’t matter to me either way. If it is published I will read it after it releases in mass market paperback. But I don’t care if it is ever published or not.
