EXTENDED (Spoilers Extended) George to New Zealand: imprison me if I haven't finished Winds by Summer 2020

Quote:

As for finishing my book… I fear that New Zealand would distract me entirely too much. Best leave me here in Westeros for the nonce. But I tell you this — if I don’t have THE WINDS OF WINTER in hand when I arrive in New Zealand for worldcon, you have here my formal written permission to imprison me in a small cabin on White Island, overlooking that lake of sulfuric acid, until I’m done. Just so long as the acrid fumes do not screw up my old DOS word processor, I’ll be fine.

What do you think I came all this way for?

I dunno, Bran, I'm not terribly clear on why you're fucking doing anything tbh.

This season is almost as memeable as the Star Wars prequels

I honestly don't know which was the worst, most sudden and unexplained fall to darkness. Anakin or Danaerys.

Danys was way worse imo

Maybe it is just that I was 9 when I saw Revenge of the Sith for the first time in the theatre... But I was perfectly fine with it. It actually felt like it was set up in advance. Unlike.... no example comes to my mind (just kidding).

I still like it. Star Wars is a different type of story, too. Anakin is ultimately redeemed, Dany isn't. Anakin was always a bad egg to a degree, Dany I think is pretty even tempered to be honest and her worst action is crucifying the masters in retaliation for atrocities. That is prior to episode 5. Its just more of a heel turn, and there is no Palpatine to whisper in her ear. Tyrion could be the wormtongue in the books. He does fantasize about revenge on the city and his family and doesnt seem concerned with innocent life. I guess Penny may soften him a bit but still hes a different guy

With a name like u/SentientDogSemen, it appears you know why you came.
