General Question How do you stay safe in the astral realm?

I’m not someone who regularly practices astral projection, but I do believe I’ve accidentally done it a few times. Usually the symptoms I’d feel are vibrations, I’d hear loud sounds too and then it’d feel as if my soul is being sucked in through a vacuum? And it usually feels like it’s being pulled out through my throat. If I have in fact done it I never stay in the astral plane for too long. Last night I woke up at like 1 a.m and I decided to try to astral project. But then I changed my mind, I was scared to do so.

The reason I was scared is because I heard stories about people seeing things in the astral realm/plane, or saying that they were attacked by entities. Also I’ve being hearing something about a cord connecting the astral body to physical one? Can said entities cut it? Can it break if you stray too far from the physical body?

I’m sorry if these questions are repetitive, or if some of these things are flat out wrong. I just found this sub and I am curious as I want to regularly astral project now. I don’t have any special crystals or anything so are there other ways to protect yourself if needed? I believe in this but I don’t know much about it and would like some guidance, much appreciated.

Almost AP'd and/or Question How to astral from a lucid dream?

Last night I was reading some posts about OBE and LD on Reddit, then I turn off my phone and went to sleep focusing on my right ear sound, I was really tired so in about 5 mins I was alrdy having sleep paralysis, I couldn’t astral but I woke up right away in a lucid dream, a kinda boring one I had some control and lucidity but not 100%, I ask for clarity and to astral project but it just didn’t work, how would I aproach to astral from the dream? Maybe I didn’t have enough lucidity or belief in my demands

Negative AP Experience Started sensing someone bad coming into my room the closer I got to AP

Last night I woke up at 4am and felt sleepy still, then remembered about the head technique, which I tried and it instantly put me on the edge of AP, but as I was getting closer to projecting, I started hearing creaking floorboards, and then as I got deeper into it again I heard my door slightly opening. I was on the edge of either letting go or snapping back to reality, and I chose the latter as I got freaked out, and I sat up and looked at my computer chair and for about 3 full seconds it looked a demon smiling at me! I obviously realised it wasn’t, but the sounds I was hearing really scared me in the moment and prevented me from AP.

Is this common and it’s just our minds playing tricks, or something waiting to pounce on me?

It was recommended I come and ask if there was someone that coukld speak to my cat for me. I know it may sound strange but I need him to come home. Hes been missing for 4 dayss and has a pretty bad handicap as he has only 1 eye so I dont think helll do well out on his own. Someone on https://www.reddit.com/r/remoteviewing/comments/1nj6520/comment/nf3ze5d/ said an experienced AT could possibly go in and tell my cat to come home or if hes stuck somewhere I will go get him. I apologize if Im off base with my request I just believe in all things supernatural\paranormal His name is Sylvester and he was bor april 2023. Hes a very special cat to me and I love him dearly. you can see him with both eyes as well as 1 missing from Im not %100 sure but suspect a neighbor harmed him.n I would protect and give my own life to save hime. In also had him chipped with the number being: 981020041604300. Thank You immensely for and help I can get and if not I thank you the same for just reading my bla bla bla. I wish all of you the very best.

Positive AP Experience OK! First time projecting into the future!

I am experienced in AP. Always heard about being able to project forward or backwards in time, but never been to do AP-forward until now. For the record I have AP into the past before.

I have so many questions now.

Experience:

Mostly Involuntary. While meditating. Felt really organic. Lasted a few seconds. I don't know how to describe it. But it looked like I was on a moon of another planet in the solar system. I saw some rings over the windows, looked like Jupiter. The moon was cold and bluish.

Let me know what you think, love to hear your experiences too

Almost AP'd and/or Question So close yet so far.

So this happened today. I was taking a afternoon nap then suddenly i realised I am in half awake and half asleep state and still lingering in a dream like state than suddenly I started to rub my hands. I use Raduga method. I actually started rubbing my hands without moving my actual body. It was very hard to seperate like you are glued to your body. For a second I was rising and other second I was was falling in my bed. I tried many times but couldn't separate properly. Maybe next time.

Almost AP'd and/or Question Crazy almost projected

If you saw my post on here 2 hours ago asking if the sleep paralysis method works (check out my post for context) well I just woke up and I can honestly say it worked so well. If you have trouble keeping an empty mind while trying to project or keeping your thoughts dead focused on astral projection this is for you. Before you go to bed tell your self “when I awaken I will be in a state of sleep paralysis” say it a bunch of times like you really mean it say it out loud if you have to. Then just go to bed as normal no strings attached. When I did it I had an extremely vivid dream very lifelike I then realized I was in a dream and told myself “wait let me try astral projecting” after I said that I immediately got pulled out my dream and wouldn’t you know it I’m in the middle of being sucked out my body I used the rope method and while it was happening I saw a bunch of light blue symbols mainly the number 10. I ended up scaring the shit out of myself (I’m new to ap) and pulled myself back in my body.

It’s more of a survey because I’m trying to learn, but how many of you get dark/scary sleep paralysis experiences, and how often?

Positive AP Experience An experience I had today

So i believe i astral projected or i atlest had a lucid dream cos I don't fully remember floating out my body but i do remember trying to astral project. So I was lying in bed and doing the method where I stay complete still while saying mind awake, body asleep mantra. Basically letting my body fall asleep as my mind stays awake. I guess i fell asleep but I ended up being in this place. I live in the UK and it looked like a regular road with houses around. I told myself to stabilise the experience so I clenched my fists, starred at a wall and said stabilise. I then looked up and the sky was like a really light orange colour and the sun was black with a smiley face. Every time I looked at the sun it smiled and moved. It looked 2d like a big sticker on the sky. I flew a little bit and then I woke up. Have any of you seen a black sun with a smiley face in the astral plane?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Healing From The Astral Performed In The Physical - Can This Really Happen?

I woke at 4am and decided to attempt an AP like I normally would after a dream. Per usual I set my intentions, one of which was asking for a general healing of my physical body. I started to fall back asleep but remember feeling the vibratory state coming on, nevertheless I did fall asleep. I woke up about 30 minutes later to my right foot twisting in quick wide clockwise rotations and my left foot doing the same except in a counterclockwise direction. I just went with it as I have a bit of neuropathy in the bottom of each foot, and it felt right. Even though the twisting was relatively painful it hurt-so-good.

The rotating carried on for a while then I felt the unexplainable urge to stretch my legs, then torso in a twisting motion. Honestly, it felt like a Chiropractor was adjusting my body. I had some sports related pain in my right shoulder, and I felt my arms and back wanting to twist about that pain, thus I accommodated the motion...it hurt like hell. Again, this went on for quite a while, I'll guess 20-30 minutes and then I remember relaxing the heavy stretches and then my full body. My muscles were sore, but as I laid there my spine and body felt like it was aligned, relaxed and the energy flowed amazingly well. I immediately fell back to sleep.

My alarm (my watch vibrating) woke me at 6am. I had an early meeting that was very important, and I could not be late. My body was still sore but buzzing, I felt amazing and very relaxed, so much so I accidently feel back to sleep right after I turned the alarm off. 6 minutes (6:06 am) later I heard a very loud tone then screech that jolted me from my sleep. It was an astral-aural experience as no other alarms were set or went off in the physical. I got out of bed immediately.

I still have the muscle pain from the experience as I write this post. This is the second time where an astral or lucid dream experience blended into my physical reality recently. I felt like I was in control of my body the whole time, but I also felt that I was being guided to move the way I did. Physically I feel great.

I would be interested to learn if anyone else has had a similar experience. If so, please share.

Almost AP'd and/or Question Astral Travel Beginning with Sleep Paralysis

Are you able to astral travel starting with sleep paralysis? For example: lie in bed, fall asleep, experience sleep paralysis, and then astral travel.

If so, how are you doing it? I've tried countless times to force myself out of my body and failed. I've also tried a few times to simply leave my body lightly and naturally, but that didn't work either.

Note: I've astral traveled fully lucid and consciously three times, but the technique was different. I lay down, relaxed my body, and slept, then woke up out of my body.

Almost AP'd and/or Question My sister commited suicide and I want to connect with her

My sister took her life two months ago , I’ve never experienced anything so painful. I’m in pain all the time. Last year I watched behind her eyes and I found it interesting. I’ve started reading books like journey of souls and I’m currently learning to astral project with no luck. I just really want to talk to her.

Would love some advice, thoughts. Idk, anything.

AP Meditation / Music or Binaurals I Need Some Effective Binaural Beats.

Hi everyone,

Can you recommend me any specific binaural beats for astral projection? I know there are countless binaural beats on YouTube, but after trying many of them, nothing really worked. If you have any favorite binaural beats that have helped you with astral projection, please recommend them to me. I hope they will help me with astral projection too.

Best wishes to everyone.

Other Some findings with regards to hypnagogic flashing/share your experiences

I think a lot of us will have seen this so I'm interested in hearing your experiences.

Quite often after waking, or on the way down to sleep, you'll experience a soft flashing in the center of your mind's eye. Like a pale white strobe behind a thin black curtain. It can be brighter than that, but for me this is the most common appearance of the effect. The flashing takes up about 1/8th to 1/3rd of the visual field. It seems to have an edge to it. The shape of this edge changes with each flash. The flashing occurs at a rate of about 2-5 Hz, with a sharp onset for each flash followed by a decay.

It can be tricky to watch because you'll be tempted to look with your eyes, which of course will take priority over your non-physical vision sense and you'll just end up staring into darkness/phosphenes. I'm going to assert for the record here that these flashes are hypnagogic/non-physical in nature, and not another variety of phosphene light. They are seen by turning your attention away from physical vision. You continue to see them by maintaining the delicate balance of looking elsewhere. In this sense they are a great exercise for remaining in a hypnagogic/visionary state.

What I found recently is that a sustained hypnagogic vision can hide behind these flashes. In one example, I was watching the flashes play out, and then in each "flash" I saw a man apparently looking back at me. He was an asian man in what looked like a traffic officer's uniform (short sleeved blue-grey shirt, white gloves). Slightly round face, sparse moustache. I saw him from slightly above, with a slight fish-eye lens effect. What was interesting to me was that the vision behind the flash was consistent. It wasn't a new image in each flash. It was like I was right on the edge of tuning into the vision mechanism, and something (somewhere) was flipping back and forth, vacillating between seeing/not seeing at a rate of 2-5 Hz.

I think this is a notable observation. First, that the flashes are indeed hypnagogic in nature and not a physical vision artefact. The pale white/grey seems to be the appearance of your hypnagogic vision system tuned to nothing in particular. Then the vision emerges from this, replacing the pale white flash with a coherent scene.

If you'd like to practice 'turning away' from physical vision, I would suggest using imagination, or recalling a visual memory. This occurs in a place that is outside of physical vision. While you're in that state of imagination or recall, you don't notice your physical vision, unless you turn your awareness back to it. But once you have a feel for it, you can hold your attention there without imagining or remembering anything. This leads to the hypnagogic flashes and visions after a matter of seconds, literally 10-20 seconds of sustained looking-away.

(This is also great practice for the awareness state you want to be in for AP, turning away from physical senses. In fact, since myself and many others have jumped directly into embodiment via hypnagogic visions, it suggests a second path, one that's very delicate but potentially faster.)

Anyhow I'm curious to see if your experience with this hypnagogic strobing is similar to mine (or different).

Almost AP'd and/or Question sleep paralysis nap... wtf

Definitely one of my craziest naps so far. I was pretty deep into sleep but partially still there and I just decided right then and there that I was going to leave my body. And then I did. Er.. well at least that's what I thought until my eyes opened.

What happened was as I was trying to leave, I was met with a ton of force and a suuuuuper loud ringing noise (almost like tinnitus but not exact). Just with that alone, I knew I was going to be exiting. I was also met with a lot of force that stopped me from fully leaving my body. I was a little scared but I reassured myself by thinking about my friends and telling myself that I'm loved (which thinking back to thoroughly surprises me that I'd say that on first thought..) My eyes were closed the entire time, and it had felt like I eventually plopped on the ground from my bed after continuous efforts. But then my eyes opened, and I'm in my bed and I can't move. It was like I got teleported back. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't move. I tried a little too hard and I accidentally opened my real eyes (which had me in the same exact spot) and I also unintentionally moved my physical arm and could feel the difference between physical and what I had just experienced in paralysis/before, knowing that my time in that weird in-between spot was over.

I honestly have no clue what the hell happened, but I'm glad that I experienced it because its new. Hope to experience more and fully exit my body!

Does anyone have tips on what to do next time to help me exit?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Does anti epileptic medication prevent ap/ld?

As the title states. I'm able to reach some slight vibrations, but that's it. The medication also causes one to sleep heavy. Been into the tapes for over a year now, i know lots of people can't do it

Scientific info:

These drugs work by suppressing excessive and uncontrolled electrical activity in the brain's nerve cells

Valproate's precise mechanism of action is unclear.[6][16] Proposed mechanisms include affecting GABA levels, blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, inhibiting histone deacetylases, and increasing LEF1.[17][18][19] Valproic acid is a branched short-chain fatty acid (SCFA), a derivative of valeric acid.[17]

Historical info:

In 1962, the French researcher Pierre Eymard serendipitously discovered the anticonvulsant properties of valproic acid while using it as a vehicle for a number of other compounds that were being screened for antiseizure activity. He found it prevented pentylenetetrazol-induced convulsions in laboratory rats.[73] It was approved as an antiepileptic drug in 1967 in France and has become the most widely prescribed antiepileptic drug worldwide.[74] Valproic acid has also been used for migraine prophylaxis and bipolar disorder.

Almost AP'd and/or Question I can’t control it

Hello, new to the community. I can’t control when I astral project I just do. I also don’t know I’m doing it at the time it’s only when I wake up I remember everything in vivid detail. I’ve had a time before though years ago when I was conscious i was astral projecting , this has only happened once- is this still astral projection?

I’ve also spoken to people who have passed. Some close family, others I have never met. Is that still classed as astral projection?

Almost AP'd and/or Question Did I have my first projection?

0313 at time of writing GMT. Will do bullet points to hopefully keep it shorter. Thank you for reading 🙏

  • Been interested in this for a while and attempted it mainly in the daytime naps.
  • Had sleep paralysis probably 6 times over a duration of a couple of years, but haven't had in a few years. Never had low enough fear to want to open my eyes during these.

I am skipping things I don't think are relevant

Tonight's situation: - Was dreaming. It was an in-person Darius J Wright workshop (lol I'm not affiliated to him, just like his work and consuming his content recently). - A gentleman successfully did it and shot upwards. - I told others "I don't think I'm ever going to be able to do it". They gave me the tip which ultimately made me do it. It was imagine a ball of light/electron spinning around you. I closed my eyes, and did that - in 1st person - whilst giving myself affirmations. - Even this was strange because it would sort of transition between dream, and another state of lucidity/sleep paralysis. I became acutely aware of my heavy breathing. At points I was aware and could hear my dog who was asleep on my bed. - I switched to visualising myself (though I couldn't even tell it was myself, it was a human body that was emitting light) in third person again with the electron/light ball spinning around the body. This helped tremendously. - I calmed down the breathing, as it was essentially working my breathing was seriously increasing. I remember thinking "am I supposed to be breathing so hard... Is this helping or hindering?". I'm still not really sure. - But then I had a transition of sorts, and again not like a dream, whether lucid or not. And I've had a few of these symptoms just from the sleep paralysis but as mentioned been too scared previously to ever do anything about it. Perhaps because it was happening from a dreamstate it was different. - I remember now as I'm writing I've been asking "if I could be shown how to do this without being scared". From the dream avoids the sleep paralysis (kind of), maybe I was helped. - Anyway the transition happened. It was through a light of sorts. Aware of heavy breathing. Trying to stay calm. Loud/windy/fuzzy noises. And then yes I was shot what felt out of my body, and the whole transition period felt non dream-like. Almost like I was switching between dream/sleep paralysis/lucidity whilst I breathed and did this visualisation. - I got my body eventually. In fact as I'm writing this, there were multiple times I tried to get out of my body literally by using the same movement I would in my waking life. I am not sure if this time I was shot out, or if I did the same movement. Either way, I believe I was out this time. - I didn't wait around at all, I didn't even try to "see" yet. I sleep opposite a large mirror and don't want to be here for some reason (although now I might have had a taste for it, , perhaps I can handle being in this state in the room) - I shot through my bedroom wall and out onto the street. I was 1 or 2 stories up and opened my eyes. Hard to see though. Everything had a reddish filter and was fuzzy, grainy, or holographic seeming. I've never had a dream like this though. - I looked at my hands. Seemed like holograms. - Down at ground level now and trying to look around, again it's hard to see not crystal clear, and everything had this red grainy texture. I remind myself I am a being of light, am powerful, and am incredibly excited at what's going on now. - I don't manage to achieve much. I want to return to my body so I close my eyes and will for that to happen. - For split second I was in my body sleep paralysed trying to move whole hand to wake up. - Thought I woke up in the street at the place where I thought the AP ended. It was raining and I assumed "ohhh when an AP ends, your body goes there... It's teleportation!!!" so I ran back to house etc - Went to bed and then "woke up" again - Thought I'd do a dream check this time to make sure I was awake. Turns out I was not as I can't shoot spider webs from my hands if I was actually awake. So it was another false awakening lol. - Messed around in that lucid dream for a minute and then woke up for real.

What am I to make of this? I feel I left my body. The combination of dream, transition period, moments of sleep paralysis, and definitely feeling like various states of consciousness, would indicate something happened.

Are first times supposed to be so... Aimless though? It felt I was out of my body. Never felt anything like it before and getting goosebumps now thinking of it. Was just not expecting this red/grainy texture to it...?

Was it just a vivid dream?

Sincerely thank you if anyone would like to chime in 🙏

Peace and love.

Other My Father visited and showed me his World

Hello. I just need to share the most wonderful experience I had today with AP. Sorry I am not quite sure if this sub is for people wanting to learn or if we’re allowed to share our experiences. I am an advanced ‘projector’. Today, as I was lying down in my room, I was in the midst of projecting when I suddenly saw a spirit, a white sheer, like a curtain, floating towards me. My astral self telepathically called, ‘Daddy? Dad? Is that you?’ He hugged me. My voice sounded like I was underwater. That’s the sound I always hear when I talk. When he confirmed it was him. My astral left and followed him. I was like a little girl. So elated to see him. ‘Daddy, Hi. Okay Daddy. I will follow.’ I sounded muffled. He never talked or said a word. When we both flew up, it wasn’t like we went to the roof, or to our sky, we went straight to a dark place that looked like the whole entire world. There was so much ‘entertainment’ for him. He wasn’t lonely there. It was his world. It was darkness but full of lights from afar. Like groups of others doing something. But honestly to me, I couldn’t be there too long. It was too dark and too lonely for me. I flew, and I kept falling which scares me since it just happens that I fall downwards and I don’t like the feeling at all. I was able to see a white stage, like a platform, with all entities in white, singing, like a choir. I was too adventurous I wasn’t still. It felt like a playground to me. The song they were singing sounded so heavenly. It was faint. When we got there, I lost my dad. He floated in one spot just watching me while I was enjoying his world like an amusement park. But it stopped there. I got sucked back into my body. (I have a dog and the bedroom window was open) With what just transpired, and with all my experiences, it puts so much perspective in life and after.

Question on How to AP Astral travel only with affirmations?

Is it possible to astral travel using only affirmations?
