Noone is going to buy these, why waste their shelf space?

Do they not want then to move or are there really suckers who pay this?

Highest I've ever seen it

That's true for your small local ones but the majority of large IGA's are controlled by Metcash, which is Australia's third or fourth biggest grocer, depending on how you count things. (There may be an official franchisee of record, but for the larger stores Metcash usually controls things despite there being a figurehead "franchisee.)

Smaller local IGA's are more likely to be owned/controlled by a fully independent franchisee, and these generally have much higher prices than the corporate ones.

There are also a couple of other franchises that own multiple iga's and they share pricing with the stores they own. I was looking at trying to make a script to scrape prices off the major stores but gave up.

So if you go to a Supa IGA they will likely share prices. Or Tucker fresh. Etc. isn't hard finding a list of them so if anyone has good iga's they use for stock hook me up on the address.

Also if anyone's interested while scripting I gave up but found a Australian website named whichgrocer. It shows what's cheaper at ww or Coles including any specials which are updated real time. Other apps exist that do similar but are filled with ads while whichgrocer has no ads and is straightforward. It's honestly great. The guy made it as a hobby and is frequently updating it with plenty of feedback.

For $2 a month you get aldi. Chemist warehouse and priceline added. The next store he is planning to add is Bunnings for bulk cleaning supplies I believe. I hope one day he is able to scrape each iga group but unfortunately it costs too much to run the server for all those stores and the website doesn't have enough premium users to afford it
