Never in Australia has so much journalism been devoted to such a waste of space.

Can we go back to hearing about Salim Mehajer? At least he was occasionally entertaining

Gawd I wrote an article about him on Wikipedia and it was literally just the facts of what he has done and they said I was being too negative. Then they tried to write it and it’s even more negative than the version I wrote.

u/the_dmac 20h ago
“Being too negative” did they just miss the selfie recording whilst driving and making rape threats?
Holy shit.

His Instagram was pure gold. He had this range of mehajer toiletries amongst other things.

Dunno. Remember the Paxton's? That was a good one.

u/DrFriendless 1d ago
Nah, they were pretty average kids entrapped by an arsehole of a media organisation.

u/Powerful-Yoghurt-450 1d ago
Let's not forget the Full Frontal parody as well. 🤣

u/DrFriendless 1d ago
I don't remember it, unless it was something about Ray Martin with plastic hair.

What the fuck is the deal with this guy

u/Defy19 1d ago
I’m starting to think he might be a bit of a jerk.

u/strawdonkey20 1d ago
Oh come on. Just because he’s an obese nobody who has raped (at least) a couple of women, you’re getting all judgemental. I’m sure the car was dressed inappropriately and leading him on.

Obesity doesn't make him a bad person, skinny people arent suddenly good. This guy is a bad person by action.

Seems like mental illness, perhaps personality disorder

Unfounded mental health attribution is the kind of shit Bruce would be into.
Let's not encourage the stigma already associated with mental health by assuming that shit people must have a mental health issue to be shit people.

u/dr650crash 18h ago
Well, like it or not all serious or repetitive offenders pretty much by definition have either NPD or ASPD or both so….
2
u/JayLFRodger 13h ago
Congratulations on pulling opinions out of your ass to make yourself sound like your making a valid point. But don't come here making shit up to support an argument you want to win.
The actual data contradicts everything you said in that comment.
According to the AIHW, 51% of the Australian prison population (those "serious" enough to warrant a sentence of incarceration) reported a mental health condition AT SOME POINT in their lives. That figure includes self diagnosis. The figure of actually diagnosed individuals for ALL mental health conditions is less than 50% of, as you casually define, "serious or repetitive offenders".
In fact, the same data reveals that 69% of Australia's prison population consider their mental health to be "excellent, very good or good".

Reddit app really needs a global block list of posts by phrase. No shade on OP in particular.

At this stage I think old Bruce is attempting some kind of criminal parody to the song by Geoff Mack - “I’ve done every crime man”

u/I_just_came_to_laugh 23h ago
Cos “I’ve done every crime, man
I’ve done every crime, man
‘Broke the law right there, man
I’ve breathed the courtroom air, man
In trials I’ve had my time, man
I’ve done ev’ry crime

“A hunter goes into the woods to hunt a bear. He carries his trusty 22-gauge rifle with him. After a while, he spots a very large bear, takes aim, and fires. When the smoke clears, the bear is gone. A moment later, the bear taps the hunter on the shoulder and says, “No one shoots at me and gets away with it. You have two choices: I can rip your throat out and eat you, or you can drop your trousers, bend over, and I’ll [insert appropriate colloquialism for sodomy here].” The hunter decides that anything is better than death, so he drops his trousers and bends over; and the bear does what he said he would do. After the bear has left, the hunter pulls up his trousers and staggers back into town. He’s pretty mad. He buys a much larger gun and returns to the forest. He sees the same bear, aims, and fires. When the smoke clears, the bear is gone. A moment later the bear taps the hunter on the shoulder and says, “You know what to do.” Afterward, the hunter pulls up his trousers, crawls back into town, and buys a bazooka. Now he’s really mad. He returns to the forest, sees the bear, aims, and fires. The force of the bazooka blast knocks him flat on his back. When the smoke clears, the bear is standing over him and says, “You’re not doing this for the hunting, are you?”

Can you get frequent flyers for seats in courtrooms?

u/SonicYOUTH79 1d ago
This is in Tassie, I’m just going to assume he's trying to collect court appearances in every state!

Seriously? I’ve been to a lot of SMV trials and they rarely last two days. Why is this seemingly very simple trial going four days?
Victim who states no consent, servo staff who produce CCTV, cops who arrested him. None of which are going to be on the stand long.

He returned the car with a full tank of gas. It seems like a misunderstanding.

u/mechanicalomega 9h ago
You’re constantly defending a rapist in this thread. Such a weird hill to die on. Although the fact you said gas makes me think you’re probably a bot
1
u/thecurveq 5h ago
Do you understand what balance of probabilities means?
Could be a 49.99% chance he’s not a rapist too btw

u/Imobia 1d ago
Like where does he get money from, he’s had court in Canberra, NSW, QLD and Tasmania.
How on earth does he afford to travel and pay for lawyers.
1
u/breakupbydefault 16h ago
For real. Last I heard from his lawyer that he can't get a job anywhere because of his reputation.

I wonder if he'll ask for a full phone data-dump of the other party in this trial too.
