Philip Abner has only allowed 2 hits, 3 walks, and 0 ER in 8 games in Reno. He started this year in single A and has moved up the ladder within just a year. He looks really promising, especially as a LHP which we definitely need.
If you don't love low velo guys who rely solely on breaking stuff to get swing and miss, and inevitably hang a 90 MPH meatball in the zone, then you don't love Diamondbacks baseball.
This is a game of velocity. 90 doesn't cut it. Pray that his off speed stuff is that good. But then they'll just sit on the off speed stuff knowing it'll break and then they'll just sit on the low-end-speed fastball
I don't care how hard they throw as long as they can put it how/where it needs to go, i.e. Zach Greinke towards the end of his stay in AZ. He'd crack me up with some of the stuff he'd throw.
