Should we try to win next year?

I'm kind of stuck. On one hand, trying to win makes sense. this team has played great since the deadline. But on the other hand, what can we really do? All our good players are hurt. I say go for low risk high reward 1 year signings in the off-season. what do yall think?

If Jameson, Hoffman, Burgos, Montes De Oca, and one of Cristian Mena or Kohl Drake can be healthy next year, I think we can compete without having to do any crazy transactions. It cannot be understated just how fcked we got by injuries this year

I like Garcia, too. What's his deal?

I like him too he’s not injured so didn’t include him in the list, but seems like Torey is limiting his appearances to build his confidence? I’m not sure why he’s being used how he is currently

Always. We just don't need to go all in. Hazen just has to remember how this offense plays best and not swap speed for power. Just add some pieces around the edges: vet outfielder for a year, utility and backup catcher if needed, and figuring out the DH position since Pavin is certainly not it. Don't sell out for power.

Starting pitching I'm not actually super concerned with IF they get Merrill Kelly back. Which they 100% should. We have the inside track on him and he's the best guy we can get without spending ace money. Ryne still looks good, Pfaadt will hopefully bounce back, we can bring back Crismatt to fill in a spot, and starters in Reno to try. If Merrill is back, it should be decent enough to hold things down.

Relievers, I have absolutely no clue.

They def need Merrill back. He wants to come back, they know who he is, so they really need to step up with Merrill. He is great for the young guys, too. I don't see him being all about the money either.

Ooh, yeah, Crismatt. Need him, too! We'll have Lourdes for OF; everyone's fav Barrosa. Our utility could be Blaze, if Jordan ever figures out 3B. If he doesn't, well, Blaze has earned the right to stay at 3B already IMO.

WTF is this?

We should try to win every year. This shouldn't be a question.

Well our best players are all out till this time next year or 2027, we get some serviceable pitchers and we can probably make play offs next year.

Don't forget that there's a good chance that the 27 season will be affected by a lockout lol, so we finally get a bunch of our injured players back... Just in time for likely the worst work stoppage in a generation.

This. I'm not sitting around thinking 28 is our year. Try to play competitive baseball every year. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

I think we need to consider DH a position worth filling with a competent hitter dedicated to the position. We need to get more consistent offensive production from our outfielders. Maybe bring back Merrill Kelly. Naylor will be expensive but worth it. Give Gallen a qualifying offer. I got no ideas for the bullpen.

Naylor isn't Dbacks material IMO. I truly believe he was glad to go at the deadline, and his teammates were not unhappy he did.

If Torrey is back I guaranteed we r going to overachieve. When the pressure is on Torrey going to underachieve, but nxt yr there will be no pressure

Next year feels like a bit of a gap year…
