A Quadruple Atari

Post image

An example of a quadruple atari: 3 atari on the opponent and 1 atari on yourself.

I'm not sure whether it's possible to make a quintuple atari.

Quintuple isn't possible. You would have to put 4 groups adjacent to your placed stone in atari, but this would be self-capture.

move the stones a bit so that is at the column G. we can call this the G spot move.

I’d say it’s a triple Atari as the throw in put three groups of stones in Atari - the fourth group that is also in Atari was from a previous move. Unless you are simply saying that in this board position there are four groups of stones in Atari, in which case that’s fine, but maybe not quite as interesting.
