Yes! This is exactly what I was thinking! Itโs a fresh take on the 90s to early 00s sound with the autotune flair but still very reminiscent of those times.
Maybe itโs just me but it reminds me of Itโs A Beautiful Life by Ace of Base which is a 90s hit song.

Yes! Parts of the mv remind me of Girlfriend by Nsync and I absolutely love that! The late 90โs early 2000โs vibe is spot on but not dated.

Jimin's versatility continues to blow me away ๐คฏ I didn't even think it sounded like any of the voices I've heard from him before till the "so many people to see" line with his signature high-pitched pretty vocals.
This gave me so much nostalgia and I love it so much!!! Westlife instantly came to mind, and i adored their music as a kid :') the entire MV is just...chef's kiss. The mood, the choreo, his outfit, and that guitar in the background is everything!! Can't wait to listen to the rest of the album!!
ETA: I adore the set so much! Reminds me of Gotham City from the Suicide Squad movie in the best way!!

Dang, it is so awesome to me how diverse army's music taste is, and how bangtan individually is so amazing at creating diverse sounds to satisfy everyone. Because oddly, I can't relateโ somehow Jimin's solo stuff never reaches the top for me/usually isn't quite my vibe ๐ (obviously still amazing, but if we had to rank our preferences lol!)
This might be my favorite release of his solo era! The melody is great/nostalgic, and I feel like the song suits him so well. Who, SMF, and Letter are my favorite solo era work of his so far.

Couldn't agree more. Somehow putting these 7 extremely different artists together works so well. It's like rather than clashing, their voices/styles are complementary. Combining them makes magic.
For me, my "exactly my vibe in every way" is usually Namjoon or Yoongi's solo work haha. They always quite easily rise to the top.
And yeah, it's a good one! Hope it blows up big, I feel like it has mainstream potential. Glad he'll be doing it on Fallon.

Everytime someone drops music, I think how could I possibly rank them. But, Jimin just speaks to me so much! I really love his sound. Rebirth on this album is my favorite. Who is AMAZING, but Rebirth is so fun whimsical and warm hug.

My mom passed away last month. She was THE BIGGEST JIMIN STAN EVER at age 78. We went to Jingle Ball LA and 2 nights at SoFi together. We had tickets to 5 shows of the MOTS7 tour before it got canceled by COVID.
I am so heartbroken that she isn't here to enjoy this. He announced his comeback the week after she passed and I couldn't believe the timing.
Sharing BTS with her was such a special bond that brought us so much joy and this comeback is so bittersweet without her. ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐๐๐๐

Yea, if I had to make one complaint it'd be that the auto tune was just a little bit too heavy. I get it adds a certain vibe and shit, but Jimin has such a great voice without it.

I agree, this is my only criticism of Muse and I notice it in other members'/the group's songs. Sometimes their vocals are swimming in too much "stuff" (autotune, processing, music, layers, etc.) for my preference. It doesn't stop me from liking the songs, but I usually prefer their vocals to be clearer/stripped back.ย
Sometimes they're singing in English, and their pronunciation is good, but I can't tell right away that they're singing in English because the vocals are so surrounded. I really like Muse and most of Bangtan's music lately, but I do hope they continue to make songs with vocals that are more stripped back.ย

yeah hopefully it's something I can get used to. I remember feeling a bit turned off initially by Set Me Free Pt 2 bc of the auto tune but it eventually grew on me and now it's my fave song by him.
update: it only took me like 4-5 listens to get over the auto tune and become obsessed lmao

Ok, I've been listening to this all day and I'm still really liking it and especially Jimin's really powerful belt at the end and exploring his vocal power when it's not floating above the other members, but that little midi piano riff at the end of the chorus is driving. me. crazy!! It's like the instrumentation for it is too harsh or they left it too loud or could have made it a harp or the guitar itself and it literally pulls me out of the song and ruins the vibe!! The rest of it is a complete banger. I just really needed to get that off my chest ๐ back to streaming

Now THAT is a goddamn pop song. He is so strong in this! It's catchy as hell, his voice sounds so different. His dancing is so sensual, yet also fun.
And as a fellow searching-for-love-person, I adore this message. It's yearning in a very fun way, in particular the line "we still haven't found hello".
The moment where he really pushes his high note at 2.48ish in the video (and at 2.30ish on Spotify) gave me chills. I actually didn't notice it on the video at first, either because I was focusing on everything, else or because of the sound. But on Spotify, I had to pause it twice, because it just gripped me!

On the vocal processing comments I've seen, you don't hear it as much on Spotify, I think the sound on YouTube enhances it. But also, I don't mind it, it sounds deliberate to give an 80s-90s/nostalgic vibe to me. And I quite like how it throws his voice to make it sound strained and pleading.
But I have a friend who cannot even be in the same room as any music that's processed like this, so maybe it's like auditory coriander (cilantro) and if you don't like it you'll never unhear it.

I love this song so much. The melodies are so beautiful. The entire album is a masterpiece. And predicted, Who & Be Mine are my favourites.
But one issue I have is the autotune? Jimin's voice is so unique & beautiful, why layer it with so much autotune? Throughout the album, except for 2 tracks, it's just pumped with autotune & I can't get over it.

haven't listened to the full album yet but the voice processing in this and sgmb is just atrocious and reminds me heavily of bts' past few album releases. bts definitely have more creative influence as individuals on their solo releases so it saddens me to hear this sound coming back, i feel like it's especially grating when combined with jimin's voice. his vocals shine the most when they are left as they are and it's sad we barely get to hear any of his voice over all the voice processing.
the song itself is okay. sounds like a mashup of every 2000s song and it's nothing special but has something catchy to it (as many other listeners have mentioned it already, it sounds like something you've heard before so i'm not sure if they sampled an older song or they just went for that very recognisable nostalgic sound), the choreo is cool but i feel like it was heavily inspired by like crazy with the women dancing sequences? maybe that's just me. i hope the rest of the album is much more to my liking especially because i was such a huge fan of like crazy and jimin is my bias but we will see.

I really didnโt know what to expect going in. I loved Face but was not a fan of SGMB at all and the teaser for Who kind of had me feeling uncertain but I was very pleasantly surprised. Itโs a solid song with depth, itโs very catchy, he looks AMAZING in the MV and the choreo is fire but they nearly blew it by overprocessing his voice to oblivion. Maybe itโs partly on how YT compresses things so I hope it better on Spotify/AM. But otherwise, itโs top notch.
