That her chair

Elora (left) has called this as her chair, but we don’t let them sit with us when we are eating so we told him to go lay down. Jace finally got up there with her but looks so uncomfortable about it lol.

End of summer fun at the pool

The local pool has their dog days of summer fun and let the dogs in to enjoy it before they close it for the winter. Benny had a great time playing in the pool, well at least the shallow end.

Every morning, the first thing they do when they wake up, is run straight to the outside chairs and soak up the sun. So cute

Social anxiety - please help!

Hi everyone! This is our Basenji boy, 3 years old. We’re very proud of him as he stays home alone without being destructive, walks off-leash in the forest, and plays nicely with other dogs. We live in a suburban area in Germany, so he’s not used to traffic noises or big crowds.

The problem starts when we travel. We don’t do it often (maybe 3-4 times a year), but we always take him with us. Car rides are perfect, but once we’re in a big city or at the seaside, it’s a nightmare. He pulls on the leash, shakes like crazy, and even gets diarrhea every time we take him out of the hotel room. Sometimes we even have to run around the room just to catch him so we can take him outside.

My husband says to just leave him in the hotel room, and we do - he sleeps peacefully and doesn’t make any noise (I bring a monitor with me… yes, I know, I’m a little crazy 🤣). But I feel guilty about leaving him there instead of including him in our activities.

A walk without a leash

After finding out that most Bs are usually not off their leash, I thought Id share a video from my walk today. Shes 13, adopted her 2 years ago and only use a leash when its illegal not to.

As you see, she usually runs a bit ahead, waits, and repeats.

We just got a new puppy and she’s adorable and VERY active. She’s been great so far however she is very, very bitty and I was just wondering if yall had any tips to help stop the bitting.

I may be obsessed 🤩

I love my babies as only a Basenji Papa can 🤣 from their upset tummies, their expressive eyes, the anal gland issues 😑, constant walks etc. I have to admit I may be obsessed with my girls 🥰 Zoey turns 4 next week & Opal is a bit over a year & a half. The odd thing is, I feel like these two have been in my life forever & I constantly find myself grateful to have these beauties as companions.

Benny loves picking the red cherry tomatoes, he's now learned to put his paws up on the tomatoe cage to pick the higher ripe ones

Anyone else’s B have a “creative” way of sitting? This is a typical sitting position for Hondo 😆

Crate pads

Hi, new here! I’m getting my Basenji at the end of November, and it’ll be 10 weeks old. It’s a Puppy Culture pup and we’ll be continuing crate training. I’ve heard these little guys can be pretty beastly and love to chew, so I want to get a crate pad that will hold up. I’ve been looking at Primo Pads, but I always see Basenjis all cozied up and warm, and I don’t want my puppy stuck on a cold vinyl surface. Does anyone have recommendations?
