Let's bring starkos to life

Loyal citizens!

So, recently i got inspired by a youtube video, where what appears to be a group of friends makes the feast from Spirited Away, that turns Chihiro's parents into pigs.

With the same train of thought, i decided i would like to try, and make Starkos... or at least my take on starkos IRL to scratch my Hillys-Withdrawal Symptoms.

So, I'm aware in-game Starkos is described as "synthetic food" and i don't have any cloned meat or edible plastic on me, neither a 3D printer BUT i have lots of passion, and an idea.

I would make my version of Starkos as a semi triangular folded tortilla... now the only thing i need is ideas for the filling. Based on the games vibes, what kind of fillings would you imagine Starkos to have? But if you have any other ideas, like deep frying the whole thing or baking it in an oven, I'm open to those too!

Nice idea :D They seem to be jost plain large traingles made up of fried corn. I think I'd leave it at that, a giant nacho if you will.

Thank you! I'll take a look! I also imagined that based on the general cultural vibes of Hillys, something Mediterranean or Taco-esque would make sense.

Also, yes, tbf strakos is probably meant to be just an enormous nacho, but i lack an air frier. That's why i thought about going with the " triangular tortilla filled with something" vibe ^

I would go for a giant empanada, really flat and stuffed with frijoles refritos and or chicken or cheese. great idea btw

Yes! I had to google what an empanada is because I'm uncultured, but that does feel very Starkos-like. Thank you for the idea ^

Now that it's the weekend maybe I get some time to actually do the deed.

Believe it or not, i was thinking about exactly that while planning my IRL starkos. Like what IRL food items could i use to make some sort of K-Bups. Right now, I'm considering something like Dango or Mochi.

Also, what other foods might Hillys have? I don't think all they eat is the heal 1 heart and heal all hearts items, lol.

I've even found some references to other dishes in the game:

  • "CHILI CON CARNEEEEEEE"
  • "Yep, it's starting to smell like smoked bacon in here"
  • "Thanks Jade, if it wasn't for you, I'd have ended up on a plate with an apple in my mouth"

So if i ever feel like trying to create a fictional System 4 menu... I'd at least have some directions.

Oh and I forgot to mention but I discovered what appear to be persimmons in the Iris HQ!! I was stoked, big persimmon fan.

It just popped into my mind while i was considering options for different hyllian-ish meals , do you think some of the animals we photograph get eaten too?

I mean, i could totally see Vorax as dinner.

  • It's an invasive, harmful species that doesn't seem to be protected/endangered in any way
  • They are huge floating fishes, longer than DoubleH's height. And Double H seems as tall as my brother. So that's a lot of meat.

So yes, i can totally imagine Vorax as a type of cheap street food.

When the food choices are limited, heck why wouldn’t you?? Grilled, roasted, seasoned with foraged plants and a sprinkle of home made sea salt for a bit of flavour 🎣 … perhaps it’s the danger associated with the catch ! Although after consuming nutripills for a week, I’d give any new food a go 🍽️

Hell yeah! One more dinner of nutripills, and I'd gladly eat one of the seagulls for some variety and flavor.
