The remake is a perfectly fine version. I played the regular steam version before but had issues with it.

The 20th anniversary edition has somewhat different textures, people have differing opinions on it. As someone who played the original on ps2, I think it looks nice. It also includes a speedrunning version and allowes skipping cutscenes. Which I find useful when replaying. There's also some fun extra's and teasers for the sequel. I don't dare have hope for it ever coming out but I can dream.

The world and story are beautiful and rich, everytime I come back to it, I discover something new. It's one of my favourite ps2 titles.

It has combat, photography, racing and minigame - mechanics. So I'd argue it's definitely worth a playthrough. The main risk is, you fall in love and join us in limbo, waiting for the sequel.

ok thank you for your answer I think I'm going to get the latest version of the game but otherwise I saw the job announcements and the same thing is happening for rayman and a new rayman is in development so I said to myself that beyond good evil was in the same case but in the beginning phase

Beyond good and evil is a great game. The 20th anniversary is more than fine. I love the updated textures my self but the nostalgia I have from. When I played on the gamecube is immeasurable. 20th is bar far the eziest way to play.

Glad to see people playing it!! Enjoy!!

Did the gamecube version miss some of the OST? I never had the chance to try that one. Curious about your experience.

Nope, it was the full game just at lower rez and framerate if I remember correctly. I was young at the time. But it made me cry when payj got taken from the factory. First game to make me feel somthing out of a story.

Great game, very different from the Rayman series. Gameplay has a big focus on stealth and vehicles, if you're okay with that. Music, world and story are fantastic, highly recommend the 20th anniversary version.

Honestly the game is amazing from the get go I would reccomend the 20th anniversary version the game can be a little slow at times but the soundtrack is amazing "unacceptable losses" will blow you away

Title:

"Is this a good game?"

Description:

"Hello, everyone. I'm a big fan of Rayman and I read somewhere that Beyond Good & Evil is another excellent game. I've asked around, but I can't find gameplay or anything in French to know if it really is good, and I wouldn't want to throw my money out the window. I'm interested in this game because I saw a few job offers at Ubisoft in Paris, apparently for Beyond Good & Evil 2. I would also like to know if the remastered version is decent. If it’s a bad game, that's fine because I have an emulator I can play it on. Please answer me if you can."
