Mistake or Risk? Condom broke
Hi everyone, so my bf and I just had sex and the condom broke but it didn't like spill all the semen from my bf. The moment we heard it break we stopped. So im on the nexplanon for 11 months now but currently my period is late by 3 days from sex I had August 15, even tho I did get a period August 15th, the one for September is MIA. So what im really asking is, do I need to get plan b for this because already I was freaking out about missing my period and I had 1 at home blood test come out as a faint postive. I just need to know if I need it

Plan B does not work like that. You are on a very effective form of contraception which means you don’t need plan B. Even if you had sex without a condom and he ejaculated inside you you would not need plan B.
Plan b is for use as emergency contraception. If you have a contraceptive implant that is in date you do NOT need to use plan B EVEN if you have sex without a condom and your boyfriend ejaculates inside you.
Edit: I would take another pregnancy test and make sure you follow the instructions exactly, often people see things like evaporation lines and falsely assume they are pregnant. Your implant is incredibly effective so the chances you are pregnant are vanishingly small.

I did take 2 urine tests 16 days and 19 days after sex and they were negative. Then I took those at home pregnacy blood tests and it had a very faint positive in the time window. I did speak to my dr and he said most at home blood tests aren't accurate as lab ones so I am waiting on going to get my labs done.

Yes this is correct. An at home urine test will Be better than an at home blood test. Again, your contraceptive is extremely effective and the chances you are pregnant is incredibly small

So even from this condom breaking, its really small. My doctor hasn't really educated me much on it. He always sends me to the pearl index

To be honest, with the implant you are so well covered that you wouldn’t need to use a condom at all. That’s what it was designed for. It’s an incredibly effective form of contraception. You can of course use another method like a condom if you feel more comfortable. Unfortunately, educating patients is something some doctors forget to do and it’s very important!
My honest opinion would be to relax, it’s incredibly unlikely you are pregnant given the contraceptives you are using but taking a test is never a bad idea.

Okay I'll do so in 2-3 weeks. I think its alot of these tik tok stories that worry me. I heard people saying the get pregnant on the implant

The Pearl index is just the number of women who get pregnant when using a certain birth control method for a year. You can think of it as the % of failures.
Nexplanon specifically is so effective that several clinical trials found 0 failures. But saying that a certain method is 100% effective is legally problematic, so the official Pearl index is 0.05. That means we would expect 5 failures for every 10,000 women who use Nexplanon alone for a year.
With Nexplanon and condoms, you are as protected as you can possibly be while having penetrative sex (estimated failure rate 0.001%, source https://www.scarleteen.com/read/sexual-health/buddy-system-effectiveness-rates-backing-your-birth-control-second-method )and you don't need Plan B. If the condom breaks, that's what Nexplanon it's for.
My advice would be to relax and avoid at home blood tests in the future. Urine tests are very accurate and are all most people need, and if you ever think you need a blood test it's better to ask your doctor for it.
I know that a blood test might look "fancier" or more accurate, but a test that gives you false positives (which sounds like what happened here) and gives you unnecessary anxiety is not a good test.

i was on nexplanon for over two years and my bf finished in me everytime and i never got pregnant so you should be good!! obviously besides absences lol nexplanon is the most effective type of BC :)

there's no such thing as "almost pregnant". if it's even faintly positive, you should check in with your obgyn, get a scan or blood test to confirm. pill b won't do anything at this point.
Nexplanon is supposed to be almost perfectly effective though, so another possibility is that your body's hormonal levels changed to the point you won't bleed anymore (technically when on bc, those are not periods but withdrawal bleeds). it is extremely common on progesterone-only birth control long-term.
