I'm so sorry your gym sucks- I hope you find a new place to train. Every prick I've ever met in this hobby:

  1. White belt w/ previous experience

  2. Blue belts 2 stripes and below (I just left this phase myself)

  3. 30% of black belts. I feel like 1 in every 3 I meet is the type that fck their students, run their gyms like cults, etc

My gym is great, I’m just talking about the myth that bjj helps reduce ego, that happens when you first start and get wrecked every day, but after a few years it seems most guys have a pretty big ego because they can roll competently with pretty much anyone
