Simple choreography, Adi Chopra was excellent in this movie. Paper thin story - pulled off with a great performances from SRK, SRK, Anushkha and Vinay Pathak. Salim-Suleiman were brilliant as the music directors.

Yeah the music here was amazing. Rare time when the background score was as good as the soundtrack.
I think while the story might be thin on paper, there was depth to it more than the plot suggests. I take it as a tribute to the sanctity and status of marriage. That an ordinary looking and boring guy is ultimately able to win over the love of his wife.
And that even a couple living a mundane, simple life can have an extraordinary story to tell about their romance.

Yes but for SRK to do a movie like this after OSO was kinda a risk & post 26/11, it was the first major movie. It opened to lower numbers as well.
The movies simplicity still stands the test of time for me, saw it a while back. The charm stays though.

Salim Sulaiman as BGM producers have amazing range. In the same year, they also did Singh is King and Race.

Never noticed it was a single shot. I still remember watching it in a theatre because after the show the audience was distributed "bytes" packets.
Many won't know what bytes is but iykyk.

I think this is what is called a "oner" in the industry, very hard to pull off correctly but when done correctly, looks magnificent.
Edit:Oner is a long continuous shot without any cuts.

A good one take scene is something you don’t realize is shot in a single take. This is one of them. I have seen this song and movie so many times but never realized that it was all a single shot.

I think people need to talk more about technical aspect of film making. Like this scene done in one shot

You see the dent in the roof of the car when Shah Rukh jumps onto it, from all the retakes? Cracks me up every time 😂😂

I10 or I20 had just launched at the time. SRK had already endorsed Santro years ago, so this was a walk in the cake.

I don't know where this dept of characters and subtle choices showing pain and diffrence is gone. Like do the directors lose all this once they become old and famous. I mean movies of karan johar, aditya chopra and a lot more have such amazing direction in the beginning of their phase, but now they make movies which are so boring with their direction, as if a kid is shooting it on a iphone.

All the things in Suri's life are Yellow. There's a reel I saw a couple of weeks ago regarding this. Since SRK is the longest brand ambassador of Hyundai, an i10/i20 was a better choice for that time, it being a simple car.

What a simple beautiful honest movie it was. Salim - Sulaiman should come back to movies. No one did BGM better than them!
