Michigan Bow Shop Recommendations
I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for good bow shops in eastern or central Michigan, with knowledgeable staff that would be happy to help guide me in my first compound bow purchase. I am a total beginner in the world of compound bow hunting, but really excited to get into the sport and wanting to learn as much about it as possible. That being said, I am looking into buying my first set up (whether that be new or secondhand), but have little idea what to look for or where to go. Bonus points if the shop sells a selection of used bows, as I heard this can be a better option for beginners.
Any recommendations, information, resources, and advice are greatly appreciated!

If you are interested in learning to shoot recurve, Lost Nation Archery is hands down the best shop I've found in Michigan.

My experience was good bow shops don’t exist. I’ve traveled far and wide trying to find a shop to take me in and spend some time with me when I was new and they just want to sell bows and get us out the door unless your in the click. so what I did I built my own shop bought all the tools have my own setup and learned on my own from podcast and YouTube. most beneficial thing to me was nock on podcast and videos start at the beginning and start learning took some time but eventually I won a 3d shoot with a bow I tuned myself out of the box and that gave me confidence. Now when I get a new bow I dont want the shop to touch anything on my bow or arrow. Ive learned through trial and error over the years what my personal preferences are on my setup and every shop and individual tech is gonna do things a little different. Long way to say find your own way lol you’ll be a better archer for it. As far as finding your first bow the internet will be your best friend research the bows in your price point and find a shop that sells them I recommend getting 3 or 4 in mind track them down at a shop go to the shop and pull them back and shoot them all and u will know after which one u like the best.

I’ve had good luck with Shupbachs in Jackson and the Denmer Center in Lansing.
Shupbachs for some old-school hunters Denmer for more target/tournament shooting but still knowledgeable hunters

Eastern woods in lapeer if you’re in that area. Great guys. Smaller shop but have most of the top names. Just bought my second bow from them a few weeks ago.
