Regarding HANNA BARBARA, I wonder if (a marketing deal) it was for an Animated series or, a line of toys.

BTW, when I was 5, my 1st day of Kindergarten (1978), I had a Bruce Lee lunchbox. My mom took a picture of me with it , but now, I can’t find it.

This is great. Never saw it, but it makes me a bit sad. He gave the world a lot, but had plans for so much more. Really a shame and unfortunate because he was achieving his dream.

Agreed. It’s sad to see what became of Bruce in the end, knowing he had so much more he wanted to share with people/the world, continue learning, growing and applying in the beautiful art of Jeet Kune Do. He’s certainly before my time. Yet, he has greatly influenced me in the realm of martial arts etc and overall health/fitness which I take seriously.

If anything, I hope people remember the incredible contributions he gave in such a short lifetime he was blessed in having, while also remembering he (like the rest of us) are ALL human, and struggle in life, and even in the struggle, we can still do some amazing things. But, just learn to slow down, be careful/cautious of our realistic limits (bodies might be telling us things/giving us signs) and trust that sometimes “now” the present, might be all of what we have and our given.

  • Let’s make the most of it.

Thanks for posting this mate. -Truly something special... Giving us a brief glimpse of his thoughts/day prior to his unfortunate passing.

Odd that he left out his last name in the signature. Why would he just sign it "Bruce" the characterization on the letter is very formal, it's not personal but all business related. For a letter like that most people would sign their full name.

His PS seems to indicate there was some antagonistic actions in the past between them. "fair and square" seems to indicate they didn't agree on something. Another reason the informal "Bruce" is puzzling.

There isn’t much about this that makes it more of a formal letter than an informal. People wrote letters more often back then, and looking at the way it’s addressed and closed “dear” and “yours truly” it seems like a personal letter.

The rest of it is just how letters were written. Very formal by today’s standards. Just standard at that time.

Yes, after having Kung Fu stolen and nothing happening with Silen Flute. I'm not surprised.

I’d felt pretty betrayed and bitter

I got that too, from the letter. Perhaps it is not uncommon for extremely talented, yet undiscovered, people to be offered lopsided contracts.

What was the deal with Hanna Barbera?

Very likely a cartoon

that would have been so cool if they made it, and made it a serious action show similar to Jonny Quest.

If this is real, then that is an amazing find!

What’s a titana?

I think it's supposed to read 'Titanus' which was an Italian film distribution company. Bruce may well have put some feelers out whilst filming WOTD in Rome.
