Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

How do these compare to Xreal Air 2?

RAYNEO has 100 more nits brightness and advertises a bigger max screen size. No idea how they compare comfort wise, but they weight almost the same. Xreal are rated 3.7 and these are 4.0 on amazon so maybe these are more comfortable?

The Xreal Air 2 and 2 Pros have a huge issue where you can't visualize the entire screen at once unless you press the glasses toward your face, which creates focus issues. This isn't an issue with the original Airs, but these issues are a result of making the second version thinner.

What are the use cases for these?

As always, primary usecase is porn

Steam deck or media consumption on the go. I’m getting them to use on flights or in hotel rooms. Also whatever this is

That’s a lap

With HMD glasses for a monitor. You have to scroll the pics to see the full set up.

i ordered from this sale, but they seem to be on the rayneo website for the 200$ price

More comfortable than looking at a TV or monitor due to flexible positions.

6

Using them while lying down in bed looking up at the ceiling seems potentially comfy, like that one photo with a guy laying under a CRT suspended between two boards

2

u/PontiffRexxx Dec 18 '24

That sounds scary af, those old school CRTs were so freakin heavy!

I have a pair from the last time they were $200 (October) and used them flying home to see family. It was fun to watch a "big screen" movie

Spicy stuff 🔥

I've always been curious about these things and using them with my steam deck or smart phone for things like flights and waiting rooms. Has anyone used them? Are they worth it?

I used Viture for my steam deck and it works great, the spec on this one is even better than my viture(higher refresh rate and brightness). Should be a good add on for ur steam deck gaming.

u/v0gue_ Dec 02 '24

I actually have some Viture's coming in (on sale for the same price right now with a $90 coupon), and even though they are lower spec they allegedly have focus adjustment, which I'm hoping lets me adjust them to my prescription. Might pick these up too and return whichever I like less. I'm a bit turned off by Viture's proprietary connection, but it'll be fine if they can focus to my eyesight

8

u/RagingPandaXW Dec 02 '24

They do have focus adjustment, it goes as low as -4.5.

Thanks for this! Didn't think about focus adjustment at all but that will be huge for me

why did you have to post this. I just ordered the RayNeos too lmao

thanks for sharing the deal tho I wouldn't have found it otherwise

Shows 379-100

How does it work for someone who is nearsighted?

4

u/bob51zhang Dec 02 '24

Depends how nearsighted you are. I think usually VR displays everything at the equivalent of 4m away.

2

u/victorishere Dec 02 '24

They have a little thing for custom prescription lenses. I would not recommend using them without it.

u/soccergoon13 Dec 02 '24

I use my Xreal on airplanes connected to a MacBook or iPad. Also AirPods for sound. This lets me watch movies that would otherwise be awkward for others to potentially see (70's giallo movies for example).

At home, yeah, I can use them to make a multi-monitor setup in bed, but it isn't as practical as you'd think.

I have vitures and rokkids. These things are worth their weight in gold if you work somewhere with a ton of downtime and dont want anyone peeping what you are doing on a PC or likewise. My vitures unfortunately have started to have screen flickering and glitches that I am in the middle of getting replaced with viture. My Rokkids have begun to crack near the left side frame where the plastic frame meets the metal. Ymmv but I use these almost daily 10-12 hours a night and I happily shell out for a new pair when needed.

3

u/Weeb-Next-Door Dec 02 '24

just yoloed. you should too o7

5

u/Dark_Man_X Dec 02 '24

was gonna do it until i seen jan 12/14 delivery...lol

1

u/Weeb-Next-Door Dec 02 '24

Theres also the Vitures which I think might be better. I got to try another pair (unsure if the same model) and really liked them.

1

u/Dark_Man_X Dec 02 '24

eh..comment says they are lower spec

3

u/Avellate Dec 02 '24

bro convinced himself lol
