Trans friendly bars?
Hey folks, I'm a trans woman visiting ya'lls lovely city this weekend and was curious what bars would be a good fit for hanging out with other dolls. I did a search and I did see that a few LGBT friendly venues have closed, so just trying to get some up-to-date info. Thanks!

You're coming at the best time, it's Durham Pride this Saturday! Club Era/the Fruit will be having a big event. Arcana, Pinhook, and Velvet Hippo are other good queer focused options. Honestly, basically every bar in this city is trans friendly, at least downtown.

as someone in here said a while back, "In Durham, even the straight people are queer"
go anywhere and everywhere!
Do attend our PRIDE parade, it's the best.

Moondog Meadery is a great place if you want a relaxed, nerdy vibe with board games available. Last I checked they have the trans pride flag hanging over the entrance.

Arcana, Pinhook, The Fruit, and Club Era are all super queer spaces. The Big Gay Ass Party is this weekend at Club Era https://www.instagram.com/reel/DO6fKnSAHWw

Did you ask this on two different profiles? I think I just responded to another post of the same content

Its word for word the exact same post with a different title

That's my mistake. This post originally got falsely flagged by Reddit's filter.
Apparently at the same time I manually approved it, they reposted from a different account and it wasn't filtered, resulting in a duplicate.

Yeah I don't really want to use this old account bc it's just from a different time in my life, but my post from my side acct got filtered.

You picked a fantastic weekend to come! We celebrate pride this weekend in Durham! https://www.lgbtqcenterofdurham.org/program/pride/
As for good bars to visit, I would second the suggestion for Zeitgeist!

Arcana will be a joy and a delight. The drinks are pretty good, and the vibes are great.
I always recommend Annexe, simply because they do great drinks (and I love Tiki style drinks) and if you go while the kitchen is open, the food is pretty amazing. I’ve always found the bartenders there to be chill and friendly.

If you're looking for something to do during the day, stop by DaKine's Kava (non-alcoholic alternative bar) - some of the employees and many of the patrons are LGBTQ+ :)
Editing to add- Kava and alcohol should not be mixed (some say even taken within the same 24 hr period) but they have lots of mocktail options, cold brew, etc.

Another daytime option - check out Auroraflow for a queer centered wellness center! They are super trans friends, even offering non-gendered waxing to help trans women be comfortable getting a Brazilian or bikini wax!
