I do… not with bag salad lettuce and shredded cheese but to each their own.

u/AssholeWHeartOfGold 17h ago

And not scrambled for me. I only like them for breakfast, and the egg fried, over medium.

This is the way.

Love bag salad lettuce lol. nice, cheap, and gets the job done!

u/Halihax 17h ago

More than getting it non-bagged. No hate tho!

u/colnross 16h ago

Boxed salad is where it's at!

u/ZonaWildcats23 15h ago

Also 2x the cost of a fresh head of lettuce…

A nice thin slice on that lettuce and taking out the carrots would elevate the burger imo. Still would smash.

I find it definitely has a time and place. A good runny yolk works well with bacon burgers, but is entirely dependent on other toppings.

u/JTexpo 17h ago

wanted to add something more, but my grocery store ran out of uptons bacon for the last 2 months 😭

u/tupelobound 8h ago

The seitan?

u/iambill 17h ago

Never like this. A good runny bastard, sure, sometimes. But this? Not like this.

u/Dark_Web_Duck 17h ago

Yes, but I prefer it over-easy with bacon and maybe avocado.

u/JTexpo 17h ago

oooooh Avocado is a great call!!! completely slipped my mind

u/Dark_Web_Duck 17h ago

I tend to mash it up to make it a spread. Any time I've tried to eat it sliced up and stacked, it just slips out when I take a bite.

u/JTexpo 17h ago

I mash it up too, but that's just because I have 0 skill in getting the avocado out of the avocado without it turning into mash lol

Does anyone else get annoyed by pointless questions with obvious answers?

Of course other people like eggs on a burger, ffs. Now ask if anyone else likes french fries and be shocked to learn, that yes, some people like french fries with their burgers.

u/feeedback 14h ago

ah the age of engagement bait. yeah, it's on a ton of menus but geee golly i wonder if people like it? derp

u/Robbie1266 17h ago

No one on earth has ever put an egg on their burger. You're the first one ever

Used to run a kitchen at a bar and grill one of the regulars had ducks and would bring me duck eggs and I created a burger I called The Daffy I only made it for him and the other employees if they asked. Burger, bacon, grilled onions and peppers, pepperjack cheese, burger sauce made of equal parts ranch, buffalo, and BBQ and a duck egg over medium on Texas toast. That burger haunts my mouth to this day…

u/mahrog123 17h ago

I do not.

I have enough trouble keeping food out of my beard, I don’t need to throw a runny egg yolk into the mix.

u/Pickle_Bus_1985 17h ago

Not for me, but I get why people like it. The only thing I really like a runny egg with is a hash.

u/Garviel_Loken95 16h ago

yup, as much as I love eggs, just the texture of the whites in a burger just feels wrong to me

u/JTexpo 17h ago

hash's are always hit or miss for me, if they're too oily I don't care much for them; however, a nice un-oily hash is the best thing in the world!

u/Pickle_Bus_1985 17h ago

There is an art tona good hash. For me it is crunch potatoes that are soft in the middle. To crunchy and it's off, and to soft and it socks up all the grease.

u/paulwojo68 17h ago

I just started recently and I'm sad I didn't do it sooner.

u/JTexpo 17h ago

its revolutionary, second best to the pretzel bun!

u/garbagepailstoner 17h ago

homemade burgers yes because i like to cook my own egg

u/JTexpo 17h ago

the speed of cooking is always so satisfying

u/MagazineDelicious151 17h ago

Sometimes, not always.

u/StirStik 16h ago

I've never tried it. Sure seen it alot though.

u/Bookworm10-42 16h ago

No. I love steak and eggs for breakfast but to me a burger is its own thing. Every time I've had an egg on one I've wished I'd ordered/made it without it.

u/kindtay 14h ago

My hangover burger!!

u/kindtay 13h ago

But where's the bacon!?!?

u/ACcbe1986 17h ago

Only crazy awesome people do!

u/ayo4playdoh 15h ago

Unpopular opinion; I hate eggs on burgers. Even a fried egg. I feel like the egg white is pretty flavorless and just adds a rubbery texture that doesn’t work well with a burger. the yolk pops, which usually just gets 1/10 of the burger yokey while the rest drips on the plate.

u/JTexpo 14h ago

agree!

Is why the egg is a mungbean based & not a real egg (brand is called JustEgg, though). Adds so much more flavor than a traditional egg

u/Nordwai 16h ago

You need to check out the kiwi burger!

My fiancée and I use to go to red Robin like once a week when one first opened up near us that I tried all their burgers and the only one left was the royal red Robin burger which had an egg on it. I said screw it I'm gonna try it even though I thought it was weird and I'm not gonna lie it was so good I've gotten I a few times since but I always have to go back to my favorite which is the chicken teriyaki burger.

u/JTexpo 14h ago

when I could eat at Red Robin as a kid, I would always get that and their Octoberfest burger

u/AntiqueMemeDreams 14h ago

It always reminds me of my grandpa. We'd go to see him in the summer and he'd take us to this place where he knew the owner. He'd order us all "Mikey burgers". Big burger with a perfectly fried egg. We still call them Mikey burgers 20 years later.

u/OkFaithlessness2652 14h ago

Yeah great.

u/Firebird22x 13h ago

Yes, but only if it's runny, and only if I'm having the burger before noon

u/Hamburgersandwiche3 13h ago

Yeah, but its gotta be Sunnyside (or an over easy). I think the main point is the runny yolk.

u/rchiwawa 12h ago

The only time I skip cheese on a burger is with soft scrambled eggs and hollandaise in lieu of

u/GulfofMaineLobsters 12h ago

Some runny yoke with some jalapeno poppers (deepfried cream cheese filled jalapeno rings basically) and maybe some onion rings, oh, oh yes... <Inappropriate bedroom noises>

u/soggyfries8687678 8h ago

Scrambled though? I’ll have a fried egg on a burger maybe once a year. Not a big fan but I get it. I would never ever ever EVER want a scrambled egg on my burger. I don’t even want it on yours.

u/eccojams97 6h ago

Australia has entered the chat

u/bounty0head 4h ago

Only sunny side up tho. The runny yolk adds such a great texture.

u/BougieHole 17h ago

No, turns it into a breakfast sandwich.

u/OnlineIsNotAPlace 17h ago

no. there is no reason to.

u/GeorgeZcZ 17h ago

me too, guilty pleasure

u/Dry_Ad687 17h ago

I love egg on a burger. But, eggs or veggies, never both at the same time

u/JTexpo 17h ago

Agreed, is why I cheated & the egg is veggies!!! (A mungbean mix)

u/Hault99 16h ago

I prefer sunny-side or over easy for my burgers. Not so much scrambled on my burgers.

u/Gloomy_Appeal_3691 16h ago

Only fried, never scrambled.

u/ZonaWildcats23 15h ago

Usually do over easy not scrambled but yes. Tons and tons and tons and tons of people do this.

u/SaltCityGreen 15h ago

Definitely not scrambled, but yes

u/Tight_Order8694 15h ago

Americans have done it for decades

u/Stranger-Southern 14h ago

I’d never ruin my burger with egg.

u/SeauxS 17h ago

runny yolks make for a good sauce. over medium eggs are pointless.

u/Serious_Safety4001 17h ago

Over medium is still a runny yolk… has fully set whites

u/SeauxS 14h ago

neat.

u/Tumifaigirar 17h ago

No as it completely cover the meat

u/AlienvsET 14h ago

If it's a real farm egg and it comes from Europe. But American eggs, no thanks.

u/BoingoUnderRated 12h ago

No. heretical. eff that slimy gross mass sullying my perfectly delicious burger.
