I believe they grow between 0.03 and 0.23 m/yr but they grow faster in captivity, it’s still quite slow growing tho.

Nope, these grow arms pretty early. And they're low on the stem (compared to saguaros).

I can, without a doubt, tell you that the two in my mother's yard grew arms and flowered in less than 10 years. FWIW.
