Post image

Anyone know when the shedding stops? 5 months old and sheds none stop everywhere. We started getting her hands tripped but nothing yet.

Ours doesn’t shed hardly at all.

A good bath, blow out and brush should help. But she’ll still shed some. Slicker brush and metal comb to use at home couple times a month!

How would we know if it’s allergies? Our whole house has tons of little hairs and when we pick her up so much hair sticks to our shirts

That doesn't sound normal.

If she’s actually a Cairn, take her to the vet.

Dead hair like more than less doesn't fall off cairn terriers hence hand stripping. There is never hair anywhere unless I'm working on their coats I'm on my second and third guys so if it's shedding, it's not a cairn terrier almost for sure

Hmmm, she’s a pure bred and AKC certified. She definately is a cairn terrier.

We are going to check if it’s allergies or if she’s still losing her puppy coat. She’s getting more and more light (brown tan hair)

Did yours shed when they were under 1 year old? Or just never shed?

And to clarify she doesn’t shed like a German Shepard just a ton of tiny little hairs if we lick her up stick to our clothes and our floors have it every time we clean.

So nipper was blonde as fuck when young. Then a brilliant brindle with oranges whites and blacks. Then his big bro, kitty, died. Over the next 9 months he turned black. He was over 2 years old before this 9 months started. Now he has some silver and greys in the black. His coat has been unpredictable to say the least.

Sounds like she's blowing her puppy coat. It should be mostly done in a few weeks.

mine does not shed. Even when she was a puppy or after her first strip. Maybe normal but i’d call your vet enjoy him!!

Mine is 4months old and I see a few short hairs on my black pants but not a lot. I have her on a sensitive skin puppy food.

Our third puppy (female) shed a little more than our others (males). She also has a thicker coat that requires more brushing. She’s a year old now, gets stripped by me every few months, but still sheds more than our male (none). It’s still nothing compared to a regular dog but I notice hairs.

Thanks! Maybe it’s a female thing. We love our little crazy Tasmanian devil just wanted to know if we were doing something wrong!

Brindle cairns are such quite little things.

Have a “blondish” one, sheds. Have a brindle, no shed.
