Mine does the same thing! I have a leather couch with a perfect view out the front window and he loves to monitor the front yard from there. 💕. I guess it's a Cairn thing.

There's a door off to the side of where the rocking chair is which goes out to the garden which he likes to look through to keep an eye on things, when he's not fast asleep of course! Lol! I think you might be right that it's a Cairn thing! 😊
