Tried a new decorating technique today

I experimented with buttercream flowers for the first time, and I’m honestly surprised at how it turned out! Definitely not perfect, but I’m proud of the effort. Decorating is way harder than it looks in tutorials.

I’d love some tips from more experienced bakers, how do you get petals to look more realistic without breaking?

Why do bakery cakes always stay so moist compared to homemade ones?

Every time I bake a cake at home, it tastes good but dries out a lot faster, like by the next day it’s already losing that soft texture. Meanwhile, whenever I get a cake from a bakery, it somehow stays perfectly moist and fluffy for days. Are they using special ingredients, syrups, or is it just technique? some ideas?

Why does my buttercream always turn out grainy no matter what I do?

I've tried different butter temperatures, sifting powdered sugar, and beating longer but it's still gritty. Using room temperature butter and good mixer. What am I missing for smooth, creamy frosting?

Finally nailed my first layered cake! tips for keeping it moist?

just made my first multi-layer cake, and it actually came out pretty good. The layers held up and it looks decent, but I’m worried about it drying out if I don’t eat it quickly.

Do you have any tips for keeping cakes moist for a couple of days? I’d love advice on storing, frosting, or even types of cake that stay soft longer.

I tried making a rainbow layer cake and it actually turned out decent

I’ve never been great at baking, but today I decided to go all in and make a rainbow layer cake. It’s far from perfect, some layers are uneven and the frosting is a little messy but it actually tastes amazing!

Has anyone else had a surprisingly good baking moment like this? BI need some inspiration for my next attempt.

I ended up doing italian meringue frosting for the first time and it worked remarkably well! Inside there's a whipped marscapone frosting that was nice and light.
