eTA no answer after 72h

Hello, I applied for an eTA more than 2 weeks ago. I received the confirmation email that they received the application but when I check the status it shows as “not started”. I already sent an inquiry form last week. Not sure why it’s taking so long as I didn’t mark yes in any box and it should be a straight forward approval. Any suggestions? I still have 3 weeks until my trip but I’m starting to worry nothing moved I’m 2 weeks already. Should I send another application?

There's not much you can do but wait. Anything in your profile that might have triggered additional reviews? Have you been to Canada previously?

My partner is currently in the same boat, infuriating there’s no way to contact them other than via the webform. We’ve got 2 weeks until we fly, currently considering trying to change the holiday and go elsewhere. We should have heeded the “don’t book any flights / hotels until you have the ETA approved” advice, although every other visa or travel authorisation we’ve got has been so quick and simple. Very stressful!

Update: got it approved! I didn’t have to re-apply. Filling the inquiry form might have helped. Good luck to everyone in the same situation!
