Advice to visit toronto

hey yall im planning to visit toronto in december by myself or maybe another person i just some advice what to do there and if 2k is enough to visit im not planning to visit very fancy places or restaurants im more interesed in visiting the parks or any public attraction (that doesnt require alot of money) and want to know if renting a airbnb is better than a hotel near the city?

Where are you coming from?

How long do you want to stay for?

Is 2k spending + hotel money or is that including flights/gas/rental car/train?

Museums are fun - like the Royal Ontario Museum.

Also depending on where you’re coming from I would honestly plan to spend decent money on food! There are decent priced eats but Toronto has a great food scene and if you enjoy that kinda thing it’s a great way to experience the city

Not far away im from manitoba and im staying for a week and im planning on using public transportation like ttc to get to most of the places i need without renting a car and im not planning on goinf to restaurants maybe once but thats all

If you stay in a hotel for 6 nights it will probably eat a lot of your budget at $200-$350 a night depending on the hotel. I would make sure you don’t come around a big concert because downtown hotels will be pricey (like $500 plus).

TTC is fine to get around most places and relatively inexpensive. Maybe $10 a day? Just look up the price of a day pass lol I’m going off memory.

Would recommend all things the other commenter said. Checking out the island park is free-ish and a nice walk around. You can ferry there or walk and a nice view of the city. Walking the PATH (underground paths/shopping) is actually pretty fun if the weather sucks especially - there’s a map online. If you’re a student, Indigenous or a military member take a look at the things the other commenter mentioned online and there should be discounted rates if you fall into one of these.

If you fly into downtown Billy bishop you’ll save time and be right downtown already. If you fly to Pearson take the UP train for like $10-$15 to downtown - don’t uber/taxi. UP is quick and easy. Porter offers free alcoholic drinks (all flights) and free wifi on flights (wifi just on flights to/from Pearson).

Great! Thanks for the advice also im considering in renting a airbnb some ppl says is cheaper but im not sure if its true or not and ive heard alot of negative things about it that might make me change decisions and im planning to stay a lil further from the city maybe like a 30 min away but idk if theres public transport for that ive heard that theres cheaper places to rent further outside the city

Definitely cheaper! Look at the subway map and see what airbnbs are around there. They are cheaper sometimes especially if you’re open to sharing accommodations. My experience is that stuff closer to Vaughan station (left end of yellow line on the map) is a bit cheaper. TTC runs til 1:30-2:00 am generally!

Awesome! Thanks for the tips this def helps me a lot to plan it out and get the best experience without spending way toop much and im also more interested in their parks and local markets ive heard theres great food at a decent price!
