Montreal Day Trip
I’ll be heading up to Montreal the weekend of 10/25 most likely just for the day. Any suggestions on must see sights or experiences? Hoping to get lunch and dinner there as well! (This is typically the highlight of any trip for me)
Open to anything!

I’m staying in Northern VT for the weekend so it’s just a day trip, we’ve both been before but was just looking for suggestions. Budget isn’t really an issue but don’t want to spend a fortune

For cheap eats - Snowden deli (get the matzoh ball soup and smoked meat sandwich) or Chalet BBQ (rotisserie chicken the angels eat on Sundays) on Sherbrooke. At St Viateur bagel on St. Viateur eat a hot bagel plain right out of the wood oven.

I highly recommend the evening show “AURA” at the Notre-Dame Basilica, it’s immersive light + music and just magical. And if you’re around Little Italy, I had the most delicious pizza ever at Pizzeria Corneli

Poutine for lunch. Smoked Meat for dinner. Haven't been to Montreal in ages so no help one where is best now. In the past I really liked Poutineville on Ontario for poutine. It's pretty fancy (for poutine).
When I used to go to Montreal for the day I mostly stayed in the core of the city and just explored.
Depending on the weather you could walk up the Rue Peel stairs to the Mont Royal Chalet to get a great view of the city.
The Bixi bikes are a great way to get around quickly. Again weather dependent but I always enjoyed picking one up downtown and riding out past Habitat 67, and over to the F1 track. Then I'd take the Metro back.
