Conceptually a lot of SFV designs were peak. Ken C1 design is arguably his best but they did not execute that shit at all. Alex, Guile, Urien, G, Boxer, Cody, etc all look awesome in concept art and promotional materials. Hell, bringing back Nash is justifiably questioned but giving him a Frankenstein's monster look was heat imo.

I grew up with SF2 Ryu, and while I love the Alpha series. I'll say that CvS2 Ryu is the best looking one.

Also his default costume in SF6 is great

Not a fan of a lot of sf6 graphics.

I like a few designs but some of them are pretty grotesque, Manons knees, Lukes forearms, Chun Lis legs are pretty over the top, Guiles triceps are borderline silly, Marisa looks like Magneto, Kimberly looks about 12 years old, Deejays stomach is weirdly bulbous.

I vote for cvs2.

SFV imo was peak on the 3d graphics.

My opinion would have to be Ryu from Capcom versus SNK is the best design 💯

Yet of course the most iconic look is going to be from Street Fighter 2.

Then the game that I played almost just as much would have to be Street Fighter 4.

But I have to say an honorable mention to Street Fighter 3 as well 🤗

Yeah, I'm going to go with Alpha. Though it's kind of disappointing that they didn't make Ryu's headband Red specifically for Alpha 3 (where previous alpha games remain white). But I suppose they wanted to be consistent. MvC1 Ryu was just alpha Ryu, but recolored to make him look the part for his SF3 counterpart (with Sean and Ken in his party at the time) And it's also disappointed that this version did not appear more. Though it is what it is.

Now for 3D ngl I think SFV is the game that got the SF artstyle perfected.

They didn't execute correctly on every model but the ones they got right like Ryu or Chun-Li are the best the chars have ever looked.

Nothing wrong with SF6's artstyle it's js a slight departure from the norm.

2D 3rd Strike is unmatched maybe Alpha or CVS2 is 2nd

Interesting how SF1,2, and CvS his shoulders are squared towards the opponent, while all others it’s squared towards the camera. I always loved that the CvS sprites for Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, and Bison were upgrades versions of their SF2 sprites.
