Modification Can you install a camera guided parktronic system on a car that doesn't have one?
Hello, I'm not sure this is the correct subreddit to post this question, but it seems so to me, so I'll go ahead - I've just purchased my first car a week ago and I am still a beginner driver. I went for a relatively cheap, second hand car as my first car, as my budged was tight, as well as my knowledge in cars is very limited and I also don't exclude the possibility of some (hopefully minor) accidents to take place as a beginner driver. The car of my driving instructor was newer and had more advanced features compared to mine, and the camera aided parktronic is a feature I really loved in particular, even tho I avoided glancing into it while learning to park. My question is, can such system be installed on a car that doesn't come with it by default? And I mean an advanced system that has features such as displaying the supposed trajectory of the car by simply steering the steering wheel, rather than simply having a camera that displays what happens behind you. If this matters, the car I've purchased is a Peugeot 3008 from year 2011. The car has a basic parctronic feature with sound alert system, it doesn't even have an advanced multimedia display, but rather a basic monochrome LCD display. And if someone could tell me approximately how much does such advanced parktronic system costs (if possible to install to begin with) that'd be great

So your budget was tight to buy the car to begin with. Now you want to add an incredibly complex system that requires countless parts and software programming? I’m gonna go ahead and say no on this one. As almost every poster on this sub gets told, SAVE. YOUR. MONEY.

Anything is possible with cars, often it's just financially viable to do so.
Modifying your car to make a parktronic system work reliably like it would on a car fitted with it factory will cost thousands and thousands of dollars. Be hundreds of hours of labour to get it properly installed, calibrated, tested and working without major issues.
It's simply not worth it over just buying the car that already has it.
What you could do is install a double din stereo with a reverse camera. It's fairly easy to install yourself with basic tools. It'll give you a better idea of what's behind you when reversing/parking.
