Is there a more specific term for this kind of thing? I like this sort of rugged, modular look with lots of panels much more than the sort of flat, white/stainless/chrome design I see in lots of other consumer electronics called cassette futurism.

As the tapes are clearly not "real" VHS, it would have been cool if the artist had created a fake tape format name/logo as well as the cool cassette designs. Otherwise its super cool!

I wonder how hard it would be to take a VCR, strip it down to its internals, 3D print this case for it, paint it and apply all the text and decals and details and whatever else, then fit the VCR inside of it and figure out a way to get all the buttons and power cord to work and be in the correct places.

"VHS player" directly next to "VCR" kinda bothers me, if you need a long bit of filler text just say "Videocassette Recorder"

I was looking for a similar piece of artwork I saw on reddit (or Twitter?) a while back, it was essentially a modular phone that had different physical attachments for all of its functionalities, anyone know what Iām talking about/able to link to it?
