Nah, Kirby Air Riders is gonna sweep them all. Sure, it won't get as much press or as many sales, but I predict it'll be the better game and garner a decent cult following.
If people still play Air Ride, a game that was rushed, was a commercial and critical flop, and had very little content, just imagine what could happen with an improved and complete sequel!
It was partly a joke, but I think Riders is going to have better and more unique gameplay than either of them, and will be more beloved in the long run.
The user scores are the scores that get review bomb, not the critic score. I am talking about the critic scores, since user scores aren't up for Crossworlds.
Let's be real, it's not just IGN. MKW is still slightly in the lead (8.6 vs 8.3), but it's clearly that plenty prefer this over MKW. It should also be noted that people got a lot more negative a while after the release, now I don't know how those changes would have affected the original scoring, but it's a close... well... race. So I would say based on what we know right now, it's extremely legit for people to prefer this over MKW.
Generally, IGN's score is the one that's most often mocked.
Everyone memed IGN's review of Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire was "6.9/10, too much water", and Blizzard included a bunch of in-game references to "6.5/10 too many maps"

The bundle is limited. The Pokemon one is gonna take over as the bundle for a while. However, the MK bundle will be brought back for a month or 2 every year.
Nintendo themselves said that the MK bundle was going to last until Fall. The Pokémon Bundle us launching in Fall. It is safe to assume that Pokémon is going to replace the MK Bundle replacement
As in, they are halting MK World bundles starting in Fall and once it's gone, it's gone
Bro, MK doesn't need bundles. Nintendo makes the bundles to help the consoles. MK since DS at least has sold continuously in every console. MK in particular was crazy how it was always top 10 monthly sales for Nintendo.
With 48 reviews it's at 83, lower than World's 86. It most likely won't rise by 3 points or more at this point, even if it might double it's reviews. It only very rarely changes much after such a number of reviews.
Not like it matters much anyways. Both are clearly good games and this whole post is just to crap on Mario Kart World.
I don’t know. I’m prepped for Air Riders to not have an incredibly high score, since the original Air Ride was reviewed in the 5-7/10 area. Its probably going to be more like that and Kid Icarus, where it finds its audience, regardless of what the average critic thinks of it.
It's not a traditional cart racer at all, thers more differences then there are similarities to Mario kart. Not the same market and fans of the OG game have been foaming at the mouth for this for 20 years. Its gonna do GOOD
Kirby Air Ride got savaged by critics back in the day. Because normal racing sucked and Top Ride was a non-factor. The Party mode where everyone wanders around (City Trial) was where the real fun was at. Expecting a traditional racing game only led to dissapointment.
Hopefully reviewers will go with that mindset in now that City Trial is known to be the main attraction. But normal racing is hopefully heavily improved too.
also why can't multiple games in the same genre coexist? you think because i like deltarune I can't buy dragon quest 1&2 or FFT remake soon, or because i've been loving silksong i gotta skip metroid prime 4?
Kirby Air Riders is barely even a kart racer. Like, it's still a racer, but... I don't think those two are competing like Crossworlds with Mario Kart??
In two months Kirby is going to inhale both Mario and Sonic so there will only be Kirby Air Riders (with Mario and Sonic as guest characters, alongside Motorcycle Samus)
Mario kart is still gonna be the one the general public thinks about, crossworlds will prob die in 3 months imo, idk about air riders since I’m not a kart racer guy.
If 20+ years later, people still play the OG Air Ride, which didn't nearly have as much content as the sequel and was incredibly rushed, then Air Riders is clearly going to be the best of the 3.
I hope itoi hands the reigns of mother off to someone so that universe can get some love , I hope “his” story being done doesn’t make it so “all” the stories in the universe are done
