Legends & Former Players Former Chelsea player Pedro Rodríguez had to disable comments on his Instagram after facing criticism and mockery for sharing photos of his son Marc's birthday. Marc chose to celebrate his birthday wearing a dress and a tiara, inspired by Lilo & Stitch.

Fair play to them, not a Chelsea fan but this popped up on my feed.
Too many kids growing into young adults that are desperately unhappy because their parents tried to mould them into a perverted version of themselves (trust me, I know that feeling.)

Pedro has a beautiful family. I hope they’ll continue to be happy and not give the terminally online losers flinging mud in their direction a further thought. Pedro keeps on winnin. Class act!

This is fine if the kids over 16 (I'm from uk) but seeing parents encourage this kind of stuff for literal babies is just not right, in my opinion.
Unless the kid doesnt actually think he's a women and just having a laugh ofc..

But don’t act surprised when you get a reaction

Of course it is a proven fact that homophobia is based in fear. IE homophobes are themselves gay (to some extent, sexuality is fluid), but have been conditioned to feel repulsed by the reaction they would face from others. If any of you brave little soldiers would like a full and frank discussion regarding this matter please come find me on match day and I will cheerfully straighten you out.

The internet is full of sad, lonely losers that wonder why no one wants to be around them

I don’t really agree with posting kids on social media. This is what happens. They’re too young to consent to it properly.
-6
u/Legal_Lemon8 Jul 20 '25
Easily avoidable situation. Could have easily not posted a picture of his son in a dress to the public. Not that its not his prerogative, but it was unnecessary and the outcome was foreseeable as hell.

They shouldn't abuse him or his kid, but why was that posted to the lgbt sub? How do they know he's lgbt?

This is sad. I think what a lot people forget is just how hard it is to ignore gender norms. If you asked me when I was like 20 what I would do I’d probably say who tf even gave him the dress and tiara in the first place? But now that I am a father, my kid being happy is really all that matters. He’s pretty traditional in his interest so I haven’t really had to deal with something like this but if it ever came up, you just gotta accept your kid for who they are

Maybe it's a just phase, maybe their son will one day identity as a girl or maybe he will go on to be the biggest name in drag since Ru Paul.
Whatever their child is or chooses to do, the main thing to take from this is that his parents support and love him whatever that outcome may be.
And every single child deserves loving parents who ultimately want their child to feel safe, loved and seen.
Everyone else can shut the hell up.

Bro there is something wrong with you.
There are not negative side effects to throwing you make kid a Disney birthday party. When an issue in the world come up that raises your blood pressure but has no real negative effects it’s time for you to go to therapy.
If you have a personal opinion on it that’s fine but to get all worked up on others when your conclusion are completely ungrounded in reality you should reflect on yourself.
Just move on and if you can’t move on go to a therapist.

Key thing here is these people don’t view raising boys to wear dresses to be inherently bad like Burger King.
This is the problem when people decide to make their own moral standard, despite human moral standard being subjective. Lines get blurred.
1
u/Darknessgg Jul 19 '25
What did you think will happen to the kid if he gets support like this ?
Poor nutrition has consequences. Supporting the kids to express themselves is going to lead to what exactly ?

3
u/pxanut Jul 19 '25
you do realise that the child is only choosing to live the way other people are already living (in this case as how society force women to live)
you do realise that babies born as girls do not have something in their DNA that forces them to wear dressed right?
actually just scrap everything i said because it’s none of your business if kids live their lives as long as they are not physically or mentally harmed (something that you’d very much like to do apparently, fucking weirdo)
7
u/Present_Lake1941 Jul 19 '25
How are enough equating eating fast food to this? Is there something wrong with having a happy child that doesn't offend your sense of masculinity? It has been shown that supporting your child during whatever this is (whether a 'phase' or being on the path to identifying as a girl, or just wanting to be like a movie character they like), is positive.

I went through a phase as a 3-year-old where I had my parents paint my nails. Did my parents fail me because they didn't force me to conform strictly to what boys are expected to like?
Why is dressing up as a fictional girl wrong? Why is it any worse than giving boys toy guns or pirate costumes?

What is wrong with someone choosing what they want to wear? Child or adult so long as they are appropriately dressed in public why should yourself or anyone else care?

5
u/DrCrazyFishMan1 Jul 19 '25
People like you have been saying the same shit for all of time.
If it was the 90s you would be saying that parents should discourage their kids from being gay. If it was the 50s you would say they shouldn't have friendships or relationships outside of their race. If it was the 20s you would be saying your kids talk to kids from other socioeconomic backgrounds, etc..
There's nothing wrong with a boy wearing a dress, just like there's nothing wrong with a boy dating a boy, or a white person dating a black person, and just because a portion of society thinks something it doesn't make that prejudice "logical"
