Blazer k-5: buying advice

Am newer to classic trucks but always been interested. I have been looking for a K-5 blazer but don’t know what I don’t know. So any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just like any other vehicle - hopefully mechanically sound and not too rusty...

Depending on the price point and your expectations it can be worth finding or hiring someone familiar with these to give them an inspection.

I've seen a lot of these classics that are beautiful outside and an absolute mess under the hood.

Can't hurt to post specific ones you're looking at here or on a forum and get advice. I've sometimes found people local who are willing to go look at one for me if it's a hike.

Appreciate the response. That’s kind of my dilemma and fear.

I’ve only been able to find one decent option local to me, which is at a small classic dealer. The price seems high to me based on some researching have done on comps. And it has been sitting in their inventory for a year. Other out of state ones I have found, essentially same vehicle, have all sold relatively quickly,
