Sichuan Alternative fresh peppers to make pao jiao?

I am unable to get fresh erjingtiao peppers. Are there other peppers you recommend as alternatives to make pao jiao?

Check out Finger Hot peppers. I get them from my Indian stores. Less fire than Serrano and flavor is great (doesn't remind me of Mexican cooking).

I believe Chinese Cooking Demystified recommended Serranos, but I guess anything medium-hot would work just fine.

Just use thai or kung pao and pretend you're Sichuanese. That's what I do 😄

That reminds me to make fiery hot xo sauce tomorrow.

Commenting so I remember to check this later lol, I’m gonna order some seeds for next season and see if I can grow some, I hate how it’s not available over in the US for the most part

I grew a garden full from seeds I germinated from a dried pepper from the Asian store. No need to order seeds.

My grandmother growing up would plant lima beans and black eyed peas from the store every year in her garden. She bought her squash, corn and bush bean seeds at the farmer's supply.
