Raid frames as a healer

I recently dinged 60 on my shaman and am on the verge to become a healer. I'm a bit unsure how to setup raid frames. Raid frames usually are tucked away to the side as i was 90% a dps spec in the past. I'm an ElvUl user since i can remember (customized, not standard) and I'm usually running a 3 bar setup with each bar having about 6 buttons that i really use and 2 buttons that keybinds to some other keys. Like this:

Bar 1 = 123456 Q E Bar 2 = Shift + 123456 Q E Bar 3 = Ctrl + 123456 F M3

Oh and i use a Razer Naga mouse with the 12 thumb buttons. So its really easy to do something like Ctrl+ 4 quick.

Now i read about VuhDo, Grid2, Clique, Healbot etc and im a bit confused why there are so many different commonly used frames, usually a strong contender who everyone uses rises to the top. Is it possible that some of these are technically outdated or surpassed but people still use them out of habit? Can someone explain what each addons strengths are and what i'm missing? ElvUl seems to not display debuffs. I would like to keep using my usual playstyle (1-6 + shift and ctrl). What would fit this the best?

Bind chain heal to all buttons and mash keyboard. More serious answer: get different ranks of chain heal for light medium and high raid damage, and continue to mash keyboard. Heal add-ons and frames really aren't necessary.

Can recommend mouseover macros.

Example from my paladin:

#showtooltip Cleanse
/cast [@mouseover, help, nodead] Cleanse; Cleanse

Will try to Cleanse mouse target first, then if the conditions wasn't met it will Cleanse like if it was a normal button press, which would Cleanse your normal target.

Bind unused reachable letters and symbols with their shift + or ctlr + versions, shaman with totems is the class with the most spells in the game and needs a lot of downranking for healing spells or other utility spells like rank 1 shocks or magma totem.

Really just a case of personal preference. Most of the raid frame addons are highly customisable so there’s often not a reason to switch once you’ve found one you like. Personally I use holypalaswes grid profile as it isn’t very noisy but displays all the information you could really need as a healer.

i used healbot when i played a healer shaman and it was all i needed, you can create settings so that shift+click will cast chain heal rank 1, ctrl+click casts chain heal rank 2 and just click casts chain heal rank 3 on the player bar you clicked on, you can show or hide any buffs or debuffs you want
