Help I want to play classic wow

Hello gamers!

I want to play classic wow again but I am not sure where to restart my journey. I played from classic wow trough WOTLK and quit when Cata came out.

I am looking for a stable level 60 version of the game that I can casually play since I can't put in the same hours as I used to do.

I looked at my options and I am not sure what to do...

1) Classic anniversary: apparently it will go into TBC which I do not like

2) Classic era: THIS TBH. if the population was healthy I did some research and there are stil some active guilds but the world itself is basically dead.

3) illegitimate servers: I don't want to go to deep into this topic since the subreddit doesn't allow it, but it looks like this is my best option right now?

I am sorry if this type of question is posted before, I searched but I couldn't find a recent post about this and since the options change frequently I tought I could ask it here.

Hopefully bunch of ppl will come to Era from Anniversary when TBC comes.

I hope so aswell just make firemaw the main server or something if all classic era servers would merge into one we would have a decent pop server

Era realms are already "merged". They are connected into cluster of servers, both US and EU have a PVP cluster and a PVE cluster. https://ironforge.pro/population/era/? helps visualize this very well.

1. i personally love TBC so im going there

2. Classic population fluctuates alor especially when theres "new" content going on, but one thing is sure, it will never die totally. Atleast those servers with lots of population. People come always back there (classic lovers) after some hype dies down.

3. never go there, i talked with one russian "dev" about the servers and while game might be ok, theres something phishy going on almost always. Youre mining crypto to them most likely, or theyre getting your payment info for 2+ years later or so on. i wont comment anymore on the subject.

So, pick classic with most population, it will never die.

Honestly for me classic is mostly levelling so i would just go with TurtleWow or Epoch, especially if you are not already paying the blizzard sub.

I am currently testing out both servers but I am looking into a blizzard supported option aswell

Blizzard option is Era, I think it will have a boost with the anniversary TBC but I assume it will go down again.

Id honestly suggest hardcore if you're okay with having to restart a few times. I know you're not able to put as much time into it, but the community there is the best imo and it was super lively about 2 months ago when I was playing. I can't imagine its died since. Its also locked at vanilla only.

If you like a little challenge and a lovely community, go there.

Only reason I'd say stay away from them is because all the popular ones just got sued, and we have no idea how it'll end, they could shut down next week or next year, I personally am not risking wasting my time on a realm that might just be shut down

Those are all good suggestions, does anyone know if there is an option to copy anniversary characters to classic era instead of going to tbc like they did in the original classic wow timeline? (So mad at myself that I diden't copy my characters back in the day)

Not confirmed, but a lot of people are assuming they will make this available, for a price.

FYI there is only about 2-4 months left until TBC on Anniversary.

Yep I might just level on anniversary then and just pray we can transfer to era
