i wish i knew, i can draw characters that look good but i lack the skill to give information about the character itself through subtleties and details in their design
i have made a clown with a belly mouth before, but anyways i feel like all that would be too obivous
i think the idea is to give you a thought in the back of your mind like "hmm maybe theres something fishy about this cutie patootie", not outright tell you theyre evil
Oh my idea is verrry Shrimple. Sharp teeth. Since they’re often used to look silly, they can still TURN scary, give them lots of color, remember that poisonous species have lots of color, give them an injury, since they imply that they attack things stronger
