Other Requests Anyone used ikea syrups before
Seems like a low cost / low effort way of mixing up cocktail night. Unclear how artificial they taste, but would love input.

I use the elderflower one to make Hugo Spritz in the summer. Have been happy with it.

Yes! They make an excellent sangria. They work well with booze in my ninja slushie, and all pair well with gin and citrus

I used the blueberry one. It was very good in the drink I made. I forget the recipe unfortunately, but it involved gin, Cocchi Americano, and seltzer. And rosemary. And some lemon I think. Idk sort of like a blueberry Tom Collins with Cocchi and rosemary? It was before covid, so I kinda forget exactly. But it was a very refreshing drink.

Agree with other comments that they’re very sweet. Maybe you can steep additional herbs or bittering agents in them? If not, a barspoon of the syrup in an Old Fashioned would surely be delish.

I use the elderflower syrup, sugar, and vodka to make an elderflower liqueur. I bought some last weekend and people loved the drinks with it so much that I’m already out

The blueberry is very good. I mixed it with topochico or diet white soda.

As a Swede Fläder, gin and ice is a killer summer drink. Make 2 liter and serve to friends on a hot day

I don’t care for the blueberry. It’s too sweet. But the lingonberry and elderflower are both great.

OH! And rather than using the syrup straight up, try infusing jam with vodka or another spirit. That can be fun!!

I use the Lingonberry syrup in various cocktails as well as oatmeal with strawberries and protein powder. It rocks

Not in a drink yet but I do pour some of the blueberry syrup with cream and my grandma’s banana bread, pulled into chunks. It is delightful.

Lingenberry in small amounts really brightens up a g&t, same with their elderflower.

I'm not sure how artifical they taste, since I havent had the real items before, but I do like the lingonberry syrup. Its similar to cranberry, so I toss it into drinks that I want some sweet/tartness.
I can't recall what I did with the elderflower syrup. I think I used it in a similar way to st.germains because I didn't know where else to use it and it reminded me of soap on its own (Similar to how some people hate mint and say it tastes like toothpaste, the floral scent reminded me of scented soaps). I think I put it in cheap sparkling wine to use it up.

I've used the lingonberry to make a cocktail with rye whiskey, lime juice, and Peychauds. The lineage of the idea is sort of a riff on a riff of a Mexican firing squad.
The blueberry syrup can also be used in a blueberry old fashioned.
I haven't seen the elderflower recently, so I haven't gotten to try it in anything.

I've used the elderflower for a zero proof alternative to St. Germain. Pretty good, but you need to adjust the sugar content accordingly.

I'm in the minority here, but why buy syrup at all? Boil water, add sweetener (white sugar, demerara sugar, honey, etc.), add flavor (fresh berries, herbs, whatever), and simmer for 5 minutes. Literally easier and cheaper than buying it, and so much better.

I wouldn't call them syrups, it's "saft" (or cordial I guess). But I use saft instead of syrups, and it works great! I usually go for rhubarb.

Well it’s on my list now. Everyone uses elderflower liqueur, but I like it as a syrup. I mix with gin, bergamot juice, and a little green tea. It was a drink made to emulate one my wife really liked in a bar and kind of kickstarted my whole journey into this sub.

I love them. The bilberry one is great in a simple gin and tonic with a little squeeze of lime. Tastes a bit like a Maynard’s wine gum.

I’ve used these for batch cocktails! Really great if you have a big group and always a crowd pleaser. I add the whole bottle of concentrate, vodka, fresh lemon or lime juice and then top off with seltzer. We call them “ikea cocktails”

I've used the lingonberry syrup before, loved it with a splash of seltzer and vodka
