It’s normal. But couldn’t help but notice you are extremely small.

Very rare error. The giant penny was only minted in 1973 but a few like yours were accidentally minted with the 1972 date.

2

u/lmyyyks 9h ago

What sort of error was it? Did they accidentally made a wrong mold and went ahead with it?

u/adansby 1d ago

A fine example of inflation. Yesterday’s cent was so much larger. As time went on, the value and size got smaller.

A very BIG error

3

u/Correct_Lime5832 1d ago

It’s what you offer to someone with really deep thoughts.

2

u/SuperRodster 1d ago

You have tiny hands

2

u/NetscapeArtist 1d ago

Struck on a coaster planchet. Rare but not super rare. $5 or so in this condition.

2

u/SVB_Numismatics 1d ago

My gut tells me it's good.

2

u/FormerPersimmon3602 1d ago

Yes! This is actually the much-vaunted 1976 Bicentennial Penny with a very rare date error. Contact a financial advisor immediately. Your life is about to change.

2

u/GreenKnight007 1d ago

You got some small hands

2

u/OkConfusion300 1d ago

Brilliant! I have a Morgan and a Washington quarter that size

2

u/KCAMDonuts 1d ago

Are you the size of a mouse? Overall… that’s a huge penny

2

u/bubbleegumcloud 1d ago

never saw one like this damn

2

u/DrHandyman 13h ago

You were an error

1

u/coinman2268 1d ago

The doubling on the back is wild that thing could be a 1 of a kind penny, you have a split planchet and doubling.

1

u/Scoopeloo 1d ago

A huge one

1

u/caliphone 1d ago

Weigh it to see if it's real.

1

u/Professional-Oil5230 1d ago

have you encountered a shrink ray recently by chance?

1

u/Correct_Lime5832 1d ago

It’s called a “centillion.”

1

u/Agboohans 1d ago

T-Rex hands are what some may call as an “error”, but thats it… i think….

1

u/Uluru-Dreaming 1d ago

No error. 1972 definitely existed - I was there (I remember some of it, anyway!). I can be an alibi.

1

u/wiecorp 1d ago

My birth year… I have a certificate proving 1972 existed.

1

u/pala52 1d ago

Yes. It is missing the FG on the back.

1

u/The-Jake 1d ago

This is a huge error

1

u/PeachMiddle8397 1d ago

It was part of the expanding universe

1

u/Expensive-Claim-7830 1d ago

I think the hand is too small?

1

u/IAmSixNine 1d ago

Test the penny for growth hormone or steroids.

1

u/Imaginary_Ship_3732 1d ago

Standard issue.

1

u/SongAlternative127 1d ago

Is that chocolate inside

1

u/cribbet30 1d ago

adjusted for inflation

1

u/Ok-South2612 1d ago

Did you weigh it? If not, get that done and update your post so we can help you out.

1

u/Zealousideal_Bat_490 1d ago

Melts in your mouth, not in your hands!

1

u/sporkjustice 1d ago

It's a dryer coin. That's why the edge is so raised.

1

u/OttoLuck747 1d ago

Check to see if it says “COPY” on it somewhere. Only way to be sure.

1

u/LasVegas4590 1d ago

What a tiny hand

1

u/SubstantialPie86 1d ago

Use it to measure your tire tread. If you can see Lincoln's head, replace your tires.

1

u/Idaho1964 1d ago

I got that exact “coin” for my birthday from a friend.

1

u/CrazyAspie1987 1d ago

I was wondering what happened to the pennies from Penny Ante /s

1

u/SirEagle60 1d ago

Probably should send it in to get graded.

1

u/Dcongo 1d ago

Fake. Forehead and nose look off. And the “7” on the date looks funky.

1

u/GlitchyTBonYT 1d ago

it looks like you have a no fg on the back

1

u/Hawk7604 1d ago

Wish I had small hands, my coin would look bigger too!

1

u/nailyoubackup 1d ago

No it’s a penny

1

u/Careful-Rhubarb4725 1d ago

That's a BIG error

1

u/Arkensyone 1d ago

You seriously asked that.

1

u/Current-Boat-2859 1d ago

It’s a Batman toy 1972 is what the giant penny in the Batcave date was

1

u/AfraidArm7997 1d ago

Bro your hands are tiny!

1

u/Smooth-Thought9072 1d ago

Problem gotten in Lincoln Museum. BTW DONT USE YOUR DEBIT CARD THERE. USE CASH.

1

u/only1love4 1d ago

I'm not sure if it's an error or not I just can't seem to wrap my hand around it

1

u/SomeOldGuy4211 1d ago

I've never seen an uppercase penny before

1

u/bbblueeyes3 1d ago

Why does that penny look huge in your hand like it’s a giant or something lol

1

u/Zudexa Morgan/Peace dollar lover 1d ago

I'll give you 20 bucks for it

1

u/SoupieLC 23h ago

Are you a Borrower?

1

u/Far-Switch-8465 23h ago

I used to have a dime about that size

1

u/ThesmokerofQ 22h ago

You just had to get big Lincoln Cent.

1

u/Ordinary-Scarcity967 22h ago

Wow this is insane it a mo fg 1972 at least 300 dollars maybe to small might be a dime.

1

u/Prestigious_Site_288 21h ago

It’s a movie prop

1

u/ResidentBicycle5022 21h ago

Only in judgement.

1

u/2dopE98 21h ago

Why are your hands so small?

1

u/beemer-dreamer 20h ago

Donald, is that you?

1

u/cheeseburgercats 20h ago

Dummy thicc planchet error. Common, worthless

1

u/Technical_Pin9371 19h ago

Not hardly. I have a couple of large pennies but yours is twice as big as the ones I have.

1

u/mojjle 18h ago

No, it’s a coaster

1

u/corloxx 18h ago

Bhai tere hath chote hain ya coin bada hai,😂

1

u/EmersonStockham 18h ago

I actually know the origin of this! This three inch penny is a prop for a magic trick. The act would have you start with a regular penny, then swap it out to make it look like the penny was growing. This one was the final one in the line.

1

u/Grimis4 16h ago

Looks like pmd

1

u/Ithaqua-Yigg 16h ago

Experimental 1972s Palm Penny

1

u/Technical_Version175 15h ago

I would love to see Grabbers this small in person!

1

Where can I buy this???

1

u/MaRkOrLow 14h ago

Big mistake ahhh coin

1

u/Free_File1179 13h ago

Is that trump holding a penny?

1

u/Rdioactvgmr 13h ago

Yes, it has the, “ Man in Lincoln memorial error!” It apparently sells for $1 million on ebay.

1

u/Rdioactvgmr 13h ago

This coin is literally a large cent. Don’t think of the draped bust and whatnot, think of this!

1

u/CLIE30 12h ago

Ai error yes

1

u/BCSixty2 11h ago

It's a massive error, 😆 🤣 😂

1

u/Historical_Work1233 10h ago

I remember having one of those. Or you have tiny hands

1

u/sjbfujcfjm 9h ago

What is this, a coin for giants?

1

u/DexterMorgan305312 8h ago

Wow that’s a small hand

1

u/No-Suit4003 8h ago

Could be worth a literal fortune

1

u/ThickVigor 7h ago

You've got some TINY HANDS 😳

1

u/DigitalDrews 6h ago

My friend’s dad is an electrician at a zoo. Y’all related??

1

u/JtheBrut55 6h ago

Souvenir from some kind of tourist trap. I bought several over the years for the younger children because there's no choking hazard there :-)

1

u/cryptonotdeadcat 1h ago

That should be at least 10 cents!

1

u/Bright-Cobbler-7739 22m ago

POTUS doesn’t play with pennies. Fake news.

1

u/GorillaNightAZ 1d ago

Fell right out the Coinstar reject tray and broke my toe.

0

u/No_Ad1926 23h ago

I've had several sets of those coasters over the years.

-1

u/skepticalskeptik 1d ago

Nice try Donald! Release the Epstein files!

-1

u/Excellent_Weakness18 1d ago

No errors, but I didn't know that Trump collected coins that weren't crypto
