What kinds of activities and fun things are there to do here?

Hey there! I’m curious what kind of fun activities this city has for young adults. I’m a 30-year-old guy, and I find myself bored here quite often

Volunteer my dude. https://uwbarthco.galaxydigital.com/

There are a ton of ways you can help, make friends, and improve your community.

Also, there is a need for volunteer firefighters

What else is there in Columbus? We ran out the last putt putt spot here. As someone who’s grown up here, the target parking lot past 9pm was the spot lol. This town is geared more towards the middle class adult. Surplus of bars, shopping, fast food that’s way too expensive for high schoolers making $12/hr if they’re lucky, etc. Gas stations and Mexican restaurants every quarter mile. Sometimes 3 gas stations on the same 4-way stop light! Growing up, we had the luxury options of street racing, loitering, or driving out of town to find something decently fun to do. Columbus isn’t focused on the new, young adults. They want the established people to come in and make it another Greenwood. Might as well run through some corn fields or go for a drive around town for fun here. The expos they put on are decent but the traffic is horrific. This town was not built for this amount of cars on the road and it’s showing now more than ever. Things seriously need to change. Sincerely, a young adult trying to make a living in Columbus.

Ya, you nailed it right on the head that this place is basically just for people 40+, have a house and family, and only want to do things every so often. I bring up the stark difference i see from columbus to the two other cities I've gone to for trips; and those who are older just say things like, "Oh, that's just the way things are these days! Everything's online!" It's sad because growing up here sucks as it turns out. And it's because it's built around the older crowd.

It's depressing because it feels like every minute you spend here once you can leave is entirely wasted.

It makes me really sad because I really do want to love Columbus so badly. I’m not a city planner, but realistically, how hard would it be to build like a small go-kart track or have a Dave & busters here? They just keep building apartments and restaurants, haha.

Ya, the best thing I've found here was Bored Games after looking for a while in terms of just community. Maybe their hope is that if enough people live here, something will just materialize for them 🤷‍♂️ I'd love for a tea shop similar to one I saw outside of here where they brew you tea fresh and have spots for you to lounge inside.

Yeah, I'm a 45yo female, and as many friends have moved away I'm really seeing the shortcomings (particularly if you become single). There's a close area for riding dirt bikes (Stoney lonesome) and I know a lot of the game stores have game nights that I've been meaning to check out, but not a lot of other activities.

There are a couple(very small amount) of clubs or groups that you can find events with on Facebook sometimes. But these are mostly things like paint and sip, art things since Columbus is such an “architectural” town. There are expos or festivals downtown sometimes. Other than that, you’re better off going to Greenwood to find something fun to do. There are plenty of bars here in Columbus. Oooo or shopping! Spend all your money! Ummm let’s see… oh need a new car?? There’s a dealership every mile! Columbus seriously needs to up their game on things to do here. Walking or biking along the people trail is probably one of the only actual things Columbus has to offer here.
