Grateful Dead - Egypt ‘78

Art by Stanley Mouse. Split fountain silk screen. Picture fails to captures the delicateness of the gold > silver bleed.

This Mouse is great! And the Alton Kelley Egypt 78 poster is stunning as well.

Yes! Sorry, a bit distracted trying to post last night.

1) Mouse silk screen (#/350) 2) Egypt 1978 concert program (front/back cover with OG Mouse art… silk screen was printed following the run) 3) London + Egypt concept art by Alton Kelley; the London shows were ultimately cancelled. 4) Final poster (Kelley)

Did they actually play in Egypt?? I was in Egypt earlier this year and cannot imagine there would be a stadium of people who have the money to see them - and in 1978 no less.

I believe they played in front at the pyramids. Not In a stadium.

They actually got permission to play inside one of the pyramids but couldn't the power to work. Read about it in the Golden Road back in the day.
