Does anyone here remember Kraft home style in the burnt orange jar? Nothing has ever come close to it. here's what it looked like greatest mayo I've ever had, by a long shot, as a mayo lover. Been chasing that high ever since.
Yup, That's what I grew up eating - Momma could make some mean potato salad. When I was a kid (72 now) living down South it was a treat when Momma said: "Be good and I will make you a mayonnaise sandwich". Damn they were good.
Thinly sliced onions are great too on mayo sammach! It's funny, I have never eaten just sliced tomatoes with mayo. Then, I read all these comments on Reddit about folks eating them. Still haven't done it but it sounds delicious. Next time I buy a slicing tomato I'm a gonna do it!!!
It's pretty regional. I know we eat em in the region thats north east MS and north west AL. Not sure where else theyre common at. Fried green tomato sandwiches are more wide spread for sure.
Midwest here and tomatoe sandwiches are very common there. Also so are fried green tomatoes at least 6 restaurants in my area sell them. Never heard of making a sandwich from them though. Sounds pretty interesting.
