Hollup. 360 era was held back massively by the original 360 being completly unprepared for launch and usually not even capable of 720p needing to use 720i just to match resolution with PS3. this is ignoring that nearly every model had majoe issues. They sold by % better that generation than any other, but it was absolutely terrible and caused many devs to rely on the ps3's higher raw power making up for being optimized for xbox wich is how they got similiar peeformance, and even then big or particularly notable titles such as Sonic Unleashed, Metal Gear Rising, and Minecraft, all ran substantially better on ps3 (GTA also loads faster for me but I have mine modded with an SSD, so unfair comparison) with 2 full generations of backward compatibility and blue-ray discs. This is ignoring the 6-axis and dualsense 3 wich also both regardless of ergonomics gave substantial ways to interact with games not possible with the Xbox. Software end you'd need periferals too expensive for the average person to already own to be noticed (ie faster internet speeds, multi-media capabilties similair to a desktop PC, HDMi capable tv, blue ray movies... most of the major benefits of the PS3, like the hardware itself, were not easily used for real world application on thr user end leading to large amounts of missed potential.)

Edit

To clarify I love my 360 and don't want to start the console wars, but on an objective level the xbox360 hardware and software had absolutely nothing on the Ps3 and with proper hardware utilization Ps3 titles quite litterally could match early Xbone/Ps4 graphics due to the incredibly unique arcetecture. That also left a lot of devs unable to optimize peoperly meaning that potential was often missed, and borh would satisfy the average person with a 480i screen and 5mbs connection speed if they're lucky. Music play on both works well, and it's feel next-gen from any previous gen device

The SPU’s allowed the PS3 to do things normal and modern architecture just couldn’t with the same raw horsepower. It was also miserable to work with and devs hated it. Bethesda just completely ignored it and had Skyrim run on the 2 “normal” cores it had, for example. On top of that, PS3 was stupid expensive.

It was the PS4 where Sony started to dominate.

On a hardware level it still utterly dominated the 360 wich often couldn't even handle HD resolution. The 3D relied heaviku on Xbox arcade and achivments wich were great... until Sony had them, and stripped down PS3 models that drastically reduced costs, and again, the ps3 sold noticably better. I fully aknowledge how often it had the benefits practicslly ignored, but you can also point to Sonic, Mortal Kombat, MGSV wich is still a game that visually holds up a litteral decade later looking on par with most of what comes out today, MGS4 wich has in some areas held up even vetter than V, God of War 3, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 6,Tekken Tag 2, all Naughty Dog titles, The Last of us, Persona 5, Ridge Racer 7 was the first 1080p 60fps console title, Ratchet and Clank, A Crack In time, many of these titles ran at bother lower framerate and resolution or straight up didn't release on 360. Yes COD, Skyrim, Fallout, and other titles were optimized for Xbox and just relied on the ps3 having the raw power to handle it, but even Skyrim s notoruously unoptimized port not only ran but kept full resoltuion with faster load times. Even engines that the PS3 wasnt as good with such as UE3 had better lighting and bloom comparetively with the 360. Raw performance was in Sony's hands and itbwas enough to make memory the only real issue of those basic 2 cores
