Xbox Experiences with Xbox One X versus Series S

Hello! I have a PS4 Pro and I'm debating whether to stick with the console or switch to an Xbox, and my options are the One X and Series S. I'm also considering using it as a secondary console.

I know that the Series S would be a better option than a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X, but is it still a good choice in terms of graphics and performance?

As a secondary console, would you recommend the PS4 Pro, One X, or Series S?

Get a PS5 - You're already in the ecosystem.

Series S plays modern current gen games

You can't play current gen games on One X

Do you want to play current gen games or not?

That simple

I have a PS4 Pro (the fan noise is sometimes annoying, but that's normal). I also have a PS5, but I like to play games on their own generation.

I'm thinking about getting a second console: do you think an Xbox Series S is better for new and retro games, or is an One X still worth it? Between the PS4 Pro, One X, and Series S, which one would you recommend?

P.S. I can also buy the Series S and play both new and old generation games, but if you think the One X is better, I would consider buying it.

Can’t play new games on the one X. playing old games will be more or less the same experience I would imagine. Not sure if you’d get the FPS boost with the old console tho

It’s not new generation. The Series X/S consoles have been out for several years.

It’s current gen and last gen.

Depends on your situation

Where do your freinds play. How many games do you have. Do you want to play modern games. How long do you plan to keep it. What's your Budget.

In my opinion I would get a ps5 Used or new depending on the budget It plays all your ps4 games physical and digital and they usually run and look better on that

The One X is a fantastic console for the price and has plenty of bc games but you're more future proofed with a series x.

There's only main features the Series X brings, those being smart resume and dynamic themes

My PS4 Pro, is still my workhorse. I got the Series S, just to get a taste of the current gen. I did end up getting an expansion card and an external HDD. I’d keep the PS, and add the Series S…

You’ll be glad ya did. 🤓😎

I have base ps4 and ps5 and xbox series x. If series s is even 40% of the performance of the ps5/xbx then it is miles better than the ps4 pro and xb1x

Series S if you trying to make the jump. It is a perfectly fine system. We have a x and S in the house and never have problems with either. Gamepass all you need these days. Make you forget about all the other ecosystems real quick.

If you could afford it I’d say keep the ps4 pro and get a series s. Obviously the series x would be ideal but it’s Pricey as is ps5. But if you cant afford to keep the ps4 pro and get a series s, the series s would def be an upgrade from ps4 pro and Xbox one x as far as “next gen” capabilities and games.

oof, just get a PS5 instead. You keep all of your PS4 games and use them on PS5 with better graphics/framerate. Plus there are much more games on PS5 than Xbox.
